Im seeing a new GI dr (fired the last one) and he insisted on doing his own endoscope. The procedure went well and guess what--no gastritis! That means it is finally starting to heal up. Im doing acupunture and such for it along with taking liver cleanse meds and it must be helping-the carafate is as well.
However, I am sick as a dog tonight! I had something to eat after we left the hospital. Between the food (which did not agree with me or dh at all), the long car ride home and the large amounts of anesthesia I got, I got really, really sick.
So now, I have to have a monometry test done then this fall I will probably have a stomach wrap procedure done. Ive had GERD for years and he (dr) and I both feel I don't need to be on meds for the rest of my life.

Nancy, have you ever had a GLUTEN/celiac disease done? Your syptoms sound like mine, and I was just dx this week with allergies to:
cow's milk, GLUTEN, CASE-IN, cheese, & other stuff. Just a thought...

Looks like we are right in synch as usual i had my procedure done this week to and im sloooowly recovering.

I have had all kinds of tests done. Gluten is definately not a problem for me. Im looking forward to not having to deal with GERD anymore. Ive tried so many things, diets, etc and nothing helps.

I have been taking aloe vera gel as well. Sometimes it helps with the pain and sometimes it doesn't. Im just glad the gastritis is getting better--for now.
