I just completed my summary of the 2006 ACAM Conference "Infection & Chronic Illness: Integrative Approaches to Lyme Disease, Stealth Infections and Inflammaton". You can find it on my site here:

http://www.betterhealthguy.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=61&Itemid=79

The conference was a wealth of information and I hope you find it of value as well.

Scott, I'd love to read your notes, but the link on youur site doesn't seem to work. When I click on it, it says it is your supplement list, and then I just get a blank screen.

That is odd. It seems to be working ok for me. Go to www.BetterHealthGuy.com. Then Conferences. Then you should be able to click on the icon at the bottom.

OK, took some finagaling, but it is finally downloading after my fourth try. Don't know what was happenning. It would open a new window, but didn't have a url for the pdf, so of course, nothing would happen.

Dear Scotty-Better-Health-Fella -

Well - it's about time you posted this summary!

People have been asking me what I learned at the ACAM Conference and I've been telling them that I didn't know yet because I've been waiting for Scotty, the Better-Health-Dude to tell me!

58 pages? No wonder it took you so long. Bless your heart!

As far as your introductory paragraphs - well I do declare - I feel quite honored by such an inclusion in your summary! [Big Grin] I'm glad our time together had such an impact on you that you would want to include it. But I am pretty unforgettable...I mean, pretty AND unforgettable...yes? [Razz]

And in answer to that burning question in your mind...."Yes, I still am. Perhaps I need to drink more water...or take more fiber? Hmmmm..???"

Hugs & [kiss]

Wow Scott,
Thank you so much for doing such a great service to the lyme community. So many of us are too ill to attend these type of events.

I really like all the details about the various doctors too since I've considered seeing several of them and am seeing one that you mentioned. I'm trying to get my sister to see another one that you mentioned. It helps to get a little more detail about their reputation and some of their thinking.

Well written and very informative.
Terry

Thanks Scott.

Been waiting for this. Was hoping to get some new ideas. Unfortunately I think I am more confused than ever -- have probably tried 50% of the different things with hubby and his responses don't agree with a lot of what the docs report.

Need to come up with a plan. Hubby hates it when I say that as he says my plans never work out and they are constantly changing. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Really do appreciate all your hard work.

Scott, great and valuable notes.

I am giving the website links to both my doctors.

I am not sure there was a lot of new information here, but it is good to review it. One advantage to me is this brief, outline form, which helps during LLMD visits.

Scott - This is so wonderful for you to take the time to go and to take these extensive notes.

Great information-I continue to learn more.

The "celeb" photo ops crack me up...

Keep up the good work

Scott,

I'm stunned and overwhelmed at the information.

I read every word and no doubt will do so again and again.

Thank you for taking your time to do this.

You are all welcome. Knowledge is power. The more we know and understand our disease and take an active role in the recovery process, the better our chances of returning to a state of health. Be well.

Thank you, Scott. It's especially nice to see Dr. B. present at an ACAM Conference.

For those of you who do not know the purpose of ACAM, here is a rough description I just found:

"ACAM stands for the American College for Advancement in Medicine, an educational organization of over 1,000 physicians that was started in 1973. The purpose of ACAM is to educate physicians on how to properly administer and incorporate chelation therapy into medical practice.

In addition, ACAM teaches physicians about the critical importance of including nutritional medicine in the overall treatment of patients.

ACAM holds conferences twice a year where physicians can learn the latest advances about chelation therapy, as well as nutritional and preventative medicine."

It is important that we realize that some of the old just is not sufficient to get us well or keep us well. We learn more and more every day.

Take care.

Scott,

I hope you don't mind but I reposted your message to
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/CFSFMExperimental/

You might want to join as a few people have commented on your excellent summary.

It is confusing and a little overwhelming but I was encouraged to see the dental issues were addressed by one M.D.

I dont know Shoemaker very well but what in particular excites you about him? I await to be convinced?!

Sunny thoughts,
Wallace

Thanks for the kind words.

As for Dr. S., I am not suggesting that I feel my current path is incorrect or not working. However, I am suggesting that he looks at things from a different perspective which I find may (or may not) provide me with some new insights and ways to adapt my program so that it is more effective.

I start down the road of his protocol with a local doctor next month. I continue with my current approaches as I feel that they are sound.

I am most excited about the portions of my protocol which have come from Dr. K and ART. Good stuff!

HALLELUAH SCOTT! [kiss] I finally get to read something you wrote since you have it on pdf and I can use the magnifier to ENLARGE for my low vision!

Question to you computer folks: I have not had a chance to skim thru Scott's notes, but I'll probably print them except I want the ENLARGED print I select that is on the screen.

Is there a special way to do this? I'm pretty sure I've tried this in the past when I have the LARGE legible screen and chose print; but what is printed is the SMALL illegible print. Any ideas folks? Thanks so much. [bonk]

Thanks Scott for taking the time to do this! It gave me goose bumps. I have only read the first one so far, but will read the rest later without a doubt.

Hi, Scott. Wonderful job. No way to express how grateful I am that you are doing this work for all of us. I am halfway thru and looking forward to the rest of it.

Now I know where to eat in Dallas and with whom. Thanks for the laugh.
