I am a 4 year sufferer from Lyme, but have made a lot of progress, so I don't post here much anymore.

But, my wife got a tick bite this morning, and it has a comet shaped rash about 1/2" long tailing off from the bite.

So, my question is:

Would you take abx proactively, and if so what type and strength.

My LLMD recommends Doxy.
Thanks for the input.

I would get on abx asap.

My LLMD does 400mg dioxy per day. I am not sure how long.

Sure others will come along. Also, you could look on newbie links for Dr. Burrasco's guidelines.

Good luck!

Read this previous thread which tells the stories of many people who were inadequately treated after a known tickbite.

You don't need another chronic patient in the family. In my opinion, I would treat per Dr B's 2005 guidelines.
