Hi, I have a few questions...

1. what dose do most LLMDs recommend for Omnicef?

2. for Doxycycline users, do you take 100mg doses spaced out throughout day or do you take 200mg 2-3X/day?

3. is it at all beneficial to take both Doxy & Omnicef at the same time or do both abx generally act the same way?

Hi sunra

I took doxy 3x a day at 250mg
omnicef I think was 2x a day 300mg

I took 300 mg of doxy ( couldnt tolerate 400) but I took 150 and then 150.

I was never on omnicef. My daughter was, but her dosage won't help you. Word of caution- its what gave her c difficile. Make sure you take TONS of probiotics.

I am just now starting to take doxy and omnicef together, and would like to hear from someone who has been through this combo.

Doxy added to Bicillin shots has been one of the harder oral antibiotics for me because of the digestive side effects. I take 100 mg three times a day, but I am a small person, which might explain the small dose.

I'm on an omnicef/ketek maintenance protocol, although I haven't had Lyme symptoms in a long time, and recently found out some of my worst symptoms were actually caused by a common household mold that didn't care how much bleach I poured on it.

It's always been omnicef 300mg/2x day, ketek 400mg 2x/day, nystatin two tablets 3x/day to combat yeast, and tons of liver support.
