If I am standing in one place for a couple of minutes, my legs start to feel itchy and tingly. When I take a look-see, I notice that my knees and to a lesser extent my ankles, are reddish/purplish and mottled. It doesn't seem to be as apparent if I am laying/sitting, or if I check my legs immediately after standing up.

I've never experienced this before! Does this sound like a circulation issue? Inflammation? Has anyone else experienced this?

YEP,

This happens to me all the time...I think it's a circulation problem due to thick blood or the signals are crossed to the little scilia that move blood thru our systems...

One caution however...this condition REALLY flared up on one of my six month cycles and became CELLULITIS...

Lyme enduced??? WHO KNOWS for sure......zman

Hey, thanks for the replies. I have a doc appointment tomorrow, so I will be better prepared with some ideas!

Consider autonomic dysfunction. I have no idea what data support the "thick blood" hypothesis offered above, but autonomic dysfunction can yield significant circulation issues as well as other problems such as orthostatic hypotension, heart arrythmias, temperature regulation problems, etc. Not terribly common in LD, but not without data regarding it...

link that provides data for autonomic dysfunction

I think you are on the money durameter.

My doc believes the cause is neurological after "checking me out". Thank you for the link. So, until further notice I guess I just have to sit with it for awhile (literally). [Wink]
