I know we all have lots of yeast and GI problems, but does anyone know if it will ever be half way normal again or is the damage done and it's something that we are all going to have to live with and watch what we eat and do always?
I know there are lot sof things to do to help manage it, and I know that most GI docs. have no clue about lyme and what it does, but has anyone got a good answer for this from a GI doc. that is lyme literate?

I have had both yeast and Gi problems. And yes, the regular GI doctors are clueless about yeast and stomach issues related to lyme.
I haven't run into any LL GI docs. The natural docs seem to be more on the ball when it comes to lyme & the co-infection.
My GI doc isn't lyme literate so no big expectations in her department. But I did get a stomach biospy sent to the lab DML for lyme & co testing.
The only thing the scope found was inflamation. She told me to take prilosec. One every morning and it is helping, but not the total solution.
For yeast a no sugar and no carb diet has helped me the most.
I now take sporanax. It is helping alot.
Some here have found nystatin to help . Specially with intestional yeast.
The situation is not hopeless. I have found that I can treat the colateral damage with other medications ,suppluments and diet.
take care

I have been wondering the same thing. I have started checking my first-morning-urine ph and find that when I am acidic, I have increased joint pain (my only symptom) and when I am alkaline, I have virtually no pain. So I fight to stay alkaline and it is a fight.
My gut was leaking in Jan.06, but I believe it has now healed. I have read that the intestinal lining replaces itself every 6 days and is the fastest replicating part of our body.
My doctor has me on many enzymes to help digest food and on L-glutamine which I will take for life.
Still, I have to really watch my diet. I no longer think the gut is leaking, but it is very possible I have food allergies (I will be tested soon). Also, all the nasty stuff that escaped my gut when it was leaking is still roaming around in my body. We are working on that as well.
I certainly hope that one day I will not have to be this focused on what I eat, but I do accept the fact I can never go back to all the fast food meat-bread-potato eating I was doing before.
