Sometimes I wonder if I really have lyme as I don't herx much from antibiotics and I don't have an increase in symptoms that I originally had.
I am 3 1/2 mo. into treatment and most of my symptoms are autonomic and I don't really feel that much better. To make things worse I have only 3 positive bands and a few IND on my IGENEX.
My most annoying symptom is brain fog 24/7. Initially I would only have it for a few hours, with treatment it has gotten much much worse.
Anyone else not herx much form antbx??

right now I can't say, I have some real bad days and some not so bad days, but I can't tell a pattern yet.
Make sure your symptoms that are remaing aren't from something else...hows your diet? Are you keeping yeats in check? Taking vitamins? Drinking more than 8 glasses of water a day?

The amount of bands positive does not mean you dont have lyme. There are such things as false negatives due to the nature of Bb, but a false positive doesn't fly. Don't be beguiled that you need 5 bands positive to have lyme. That is only reporting status. per CDC. I herx at the drop of a hat. Everyone is different. Hope that you are having a strong day and continue on with your treatments. Good luck!!!

I rarely herx and another Lyme pal of mine with similar symptoms rarely herxes. I've discussed this several times with my LLMD and he has other patients like us.
I did herx more when switching from oral to intramuscular antibiotics.
Also, it's possible that one of my many coinfections is causing a lot of my symptoms, so the herx/Lyme connection is not the total story. Do you know which coinfections you may have?
I do know that during the five months I had to go off antibiotics, I worsened a lot in terms of symptoms, so there's no question in my mind that it's Lyme - along with all those positive tests.
I know that many people say and write that the more you herx, the more the antibiotics are working, but that's not true for all of us. I'm grateful that I'm not much of a herxer. Of course, ask me again if I go on IVs - that could be a whole different story!

It sounds like you *are* herxing if your brain fog is much worse on abx.
Keeping a diary of symptoms helps a lot to determine possible herxing and any patterns.
