Ok, I know there are many similar ?s on here, but I'm STILL having a hard time figuring out if I have Lyme, despite a LLMD telling me that one of the "+" bands I have is Lyme-specific. First off, can Lyme affect localized areas - meaning, all of my symptoms are coming from my spinal cord (L'hermitte's sign, numbness/wobbliness in legs, extreme numbness all over feet and legs, raw skin sensation in legs, numbness/strange feelings in hands/fingers, etc. Can Lyme be so localized? Also, I've been undergoing treatment for about 6 weeks on oral abx, and I'm having a hard time figuring out if it's working. I seem to have had a string of "good" days a coupla weeks back, but the last 2 weeks have been hell. Now, I have had these symptoms for over a year, and there have always been ups and downs, even BEFORE treatment. So what would give me a good indication of whether the abx are working or if it's just the regular ups & downs? I'm confused, and while I do think I have a good LLMD, I am very skeptical. Maybe I should just trust the doc, but not having lived in very Lyme-prevalent ares (Wyoming & N. Carolina) and never having strange flu-like symptoms or a rash, etc., I just don't know.

North Carolina is full of Lyme...it's just not dxd there as often as the states up east. Same thing in MO and TX. There's plenty of lyme there!
Definitely could be a herx. Keep a journal of symptoms and of meds taken and see if you "herx" every 3-5 wks. Most people do.
Read Tree's links...you'll learn alot. Is there an LLMD in Wyoming???
