my doctor has ordered it and i really want it due to understand the neuroanatomical possibly to use psych meds for symptomatic relief, and so my doctor and my psychdocs may take the diagnosis of neurolyme, or at least my neuro difficulties perhaps more seriously and that i am not making it up/

I cannot take psych meds until I get it (they disrupt the reading and have long halflives), and that it is assuredly done properly (right tracer, reporting relevant hypoperfusion, possible hyperperfusion, and not ignoring it. telephone staff in my area just do not know what any of the technicians do.)

the earliest one i can get is in almost three weeks. i want to be able to do things this september, so i want to attempt with psych meds. where can i get a good proper SPECT scan done ASAP?

thanx.

have your doctor call columbia university or dr burrascanno...find out what they want and then after the test send one to columbia lyme disease unit...its at columbia presbyterian in new york..hope that helps..also you might want to know that lyme does cause mental problems so get it checked out...

You might look into the Amen Clinics (several locations in California, one in Washington State, one in Virginia)--that's where my daughter got her SPECT scan. We also delayed putting her on psych meds until after the test. I think they want you to be off them for a minimum of several weeks.

I did not stop my psych meds while getting my SPECT. Nobody even mentioned whether I needed to stop any medications, and I had mine done at one of the recommended places for Lyme.

The Amen center might be more concerned about it, because their entire focus is treating with psych meds according to what is see on the SPECT.
