Hi Kristen Yes at the beginning of treatment I was just as you described, and I also could not even follow a tv show . Brain is kinda like ADHD - or it feels like thats what that llness would be like .. thats the best way I can describe it.. My mind was all over the place..
I was a big multi tasker prior to becoming ill and maybe that has something to do with it.. Of course I am lucky if I can get just one thing done now..But the symptoms really did improve some after much IV abx.,and now is not as bad as before, more tollerable
, But recently what I would classify as more than a tolerable level of just anxiety attacks have started, so recently precribed xanax( but there are others for this as well) and it also is a great help if its more of an anxiety thing. I think we also just become overwelmed with so much info that it feels so critical to our health to learn and get it all in- but while we have been too compromised often in neuro cases ( like myself ) its just too difficult , to process, understand , or in my case remember what I just read.. so it may be that it creates more anxiety, as well.
But its an ADD or ADHD like symptom I believe- for lack of a better term , or possibly just anxiety but all would be linked to the Lyme or co's.
I also can't sit still because of pain, so have to change positions every so often- but I don't think thats what you are refering to..Thats from my low back/hip region..severely damaged from Cipro as a side effect.
I really hope it gets better for you soon, tak a bit more relax time for yourself and try not to overdue things ..possibly ask for something to help you focus or relax.

Hi Kristin,
I have had that symptom too. I seem to go back and forth between not being able to sit still and extreme fatigue. I don't know which one is worse?
I hope it gets better for you.

The other thing I forgot to mention is when I was at the worst like that , my eyes seemed to not stay still- if that makes any sense.. Hope any of this helps you to figure it all out.

I get that at times. I believe it is related to autonomic nervous system dysfunction, that is caused in my case from an amino acid deficiency.
For me, it actually causes motor tics. I've been told it's similar to restless leg syndrome, which isn't really limited to the leg.
Reducing sugar intake helps, as that helps keep your blood sugar level. Really working on relaxation helps as well. My tics got bad enough that I finally made myself consciously stop and destress when things became overwhelming.
I also do yoga and that helps me tremendously. It helps maintain the mental control while also getting the activity my muscles feel they need.
