Does anyone else have these. My doctor said it is not related to lyme!

I had them really bad in my left shoulder and arm for awhile, and later in my lower back. It was like a torn muscle, only much more painful and the pain was very sharp. I hadn't done anything that could have injured me though.
My Dr. at the time said it was a Lyme thing, and it would just go away by itself in time, and it may show up somewhere else later. Sure enough.

Yes, and it is related to the Lyme. Lyme can cause inflammation in the muscles. I lost the use of my hands for two years because of this pain.
Large doses of magnesium can help. You want to be up around 1000mg a day, but get there slowly because it causes loose stool.
If it continues, I found help through a muscle relaxer, Flexeril.

I had a similar thing. It is like someone was driving a nail through the bone and was so strong as to cause me to drop anything I had in my hand..... It appears that it was not due to Lyme but rather bartonella. I also have Lyme but the stabbing pain seems to track bartonella flareups more than the Lyme flareups.
It was really bad until I did the initial treatment which was IV ceftriaxone. After that they occured less frequently (until relapse) and now with extensive treatment they rarely occur.
Bartonella is relatively common with Lyme infection. So rule out Lyme? No. If I where you I would Ask your Dr to test for Lyme just in case even if I had to pay for it myself. Also I would use Igenex. There is lots of info on them here.
This is what I would have done if I had to do it over. This would have saved over 2 years of screwing around with other tests for things that had less and less likelyhodd of being the problem.
I was even tested for CJD, a 1 in a million disease without ever being tested for Lyme. Incidently I was positive for CJD, but as it turns out the tests are very bad and false positives are common.
Still I suppose there are other causes of the pain but If you test for Lyme at least you can get a feeling for the likelyhood of it being the cause.

Hi there!
Yes, Lyme and other tick born deseases cuase all different types of pain and weekness.
I've been on antibiotics, vitamins, minerals and various meds for about a year and 8 months. I have much improvement.
I'm practically pain free after being sick for over 9 years. 7 years undiagnosed.
Just keep taking the antibiotics and take care of yourself.

HI.. I have this all over through out the day.. I have noticed that if myskin get cold, from the AC blowing on it or just cold it happen also.

Hello! Yes stabbing muscle pain! It was Lyme. Gone away with treatment. I also had muscle twitching. My neuro (duck) tried to pin MS on me. Julie
