Tell him to guess again. It is a common symptom of Lyme. It just doesn't get as much publicity as the rash-flu-joint aches triad does.
When my heart would race as if I'd just finished a marathon, my body felt as if I'd just run one, too. No fun. But I found that light exercise at that time (at least for me) did not increase my heartrate more, and sometimes even seemed to help it get back into proper rhythm.
Hope you feel better soon. And you might consider finding a doc who understands Lyme more thoroughly.

I have had palps on and off for over a year and I was dx'd with lyme and have had ekg's, echo's, halter monitors etc....my llmd said it is common with lyme...
For me I can be sitting on the couch and all of the sudden i feel it happen, and sometimes it happens several time within a couple of minutes...
I have been assured by the docs that checked my heart that it isnt dangerous....good luck and find a llmd.

Hey there twin cities
Palpitations was my first major lyme symptom...the start of the freight train load of muli systemic symptoms. It's involvement of one of the cranial nerves that regulates heart rate...maybe number 12.
I have to agree, consider a new doctor!

I have heart palpitations all the time. My resting heart rate is anywhere from 90 to 120.
My LLMD says it has to do with the autonomic nervous system being askew. Something like that(can't remember exactly--lyme brain).
It causes me to need to catch my breath a lot. It's one of my worst Lyme symptoms.

I have theart palps all the time, along with a fluctiation of my heart rate anywhere from 40 beats per minute to 130bpm, I contribute it to the babs and mabye a little lyme,
When i was on mepron for three weeks it settled it down a lot, but i have to take a break for now because the herxing was to severe.
It is definantly lyme and co-infections in my case, i was a perfectly healthy teenager before getting bit.

Another resounding Yes!
Mine are like cave's usually when lying down to sleep or rest.
The fast heart rate has worsened since treatment for Babs, so I assume these are symptoms are Babs.
Cave- my Babs test were negative and I don't have fevers or sweats. I have herxed on artemesinin, and energetically tested strongly for Babs.
Not to wish another complication for you, but it could be a possibility.

Not trying to scare you but when lyme or babs ect.. goes to your heart it should not be taken lightly. It can kill you, if you don't get treatment.
Of course I had all the other tests to rule out any other serious heart conditons too.
I would change doctors.
The majority of my heart problems went away with treatment.
I am not a doctor-just my personal opinion.

Wrong!! I think mine is from babs. Don't count on a neg lyme or babs test as being the end-all. GET TREATED for both!!

To my understanding:
Papitation is you heart trying to tell you that your blood supply system has been compromised by Babs.
Or an indication of chronical infection of the blood system.

For whatever it is worth, I had severe heart palpitations while moving as well as in the middle of the night.
All were eliminated after extensive viral treatment and heavy metal detox. Mercury is in the heart endothelium and where there is metal, there are microbes. Or where there are microbes, there are heavy metals.
