Just thought it would be interesting to share that I was just denied life insurance because of the Lyme disease. I'm 45, non smoker, no other health issues, have had Lyme for two years. Has anyone else had this happen? It's no big deal because I already have life insurance, but our long time insurance guy switched to another company and we agreed to let him give us a quote.
It's ironic how the world sees it as no big deal, not real, not serious...but Genworth Life Insurance company seems to think it's pretty serious~! Posted by Lymelighter (Member # 5310) on :
Ditto and it was most upsetting. Keep searching. I found a few who will write the policy, granted they want $$$ for non-pref premiums.

Yup. I've heard this story before.
It's sure is funny how life insurance is on to how serious lyme desease is but health insurance companies say its not a serious desease.
Run on sentence?
Do you think insurance companies really protect us?

Hi
I work with insurance companies day in and day out.. Its funny how John Doe sits in his comfy office and had a Nurse read my file and tell me
if things are covered or not, do i need a precertification for thing, my favorite is when I need a prior approval for my meds that they had been paying for then the dictate how many pills they allow.
Last time I checked my Dr was the one with the Doctorated degree to prescribe my meds and decide what and how much i take not some suit..
anyway i will stop now before I get to worked up about it.. I could go on for days about all type of insurance... specailly short term and long term disability..
*deep breaths*

I was lucky enough to get term life insurance. It costs me a little more, but metlife provided me with it.

I guess it is good I have been treated for "acne" for several years. I wonder if that would trigger an insurance denial?
I have been going round and round about auto insurance, don't get me started.
Did you know that some of the bulk credit card mailing things get posted on your credit report as inquiries that get sent when there is a legitimate inquiry. They can trigger a credit score that is poorer than it should be. The agent said too bad.
I HAVE to make the calls to get the junk off. My current insurance company is losing my business to my previous company of 8 years ago.

I was denied long term health care insurance because of Lyme. You know.... the kind that helps nursing home costs?
But we all know Lyme is easily cured in 4 weeks, so why would insurance be denied??? Posted by on :
