I am in Canada, and want to know if anyone knows of other orals that are not
the typical ones prescribed.
I cannot take the minocycline, it makes the light worse, so the tetra's are out, that class of antibiotics.
I took CEFTIN, and my vagina was so raw, my bowels so raw I thought I was going to die, breathing was worse too. It was a reaction to the antibiotic, CEFTIN,
I have an allergy to penicillin, and the LLMD did not want me to go on the Ceftin, but I insisted saying I read that some are ok with it
if they have an allergy to penicillin. Well, the LLMD was right, I had to stop it,
SO, the Cesaphlorins are out, and Penicillins.
I did the azithromycin and flagyl 2 years ago and relapsed after being 2 months on it,so this is out.
I am on the Biaxin, and flagyl, but this is starting to fail on me.
I have the KETEK, and IV left, but the IV will be followed by Orals, I am reading,
what other orals are there?
Maybe my LLMD does not know of others used, so can suggest them to him, we are always learning.
any info greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Trish

Hi Trish,
I am so sorry you are having no luck with abx. The only other abx I can think of is Bactrim and I am not sure if this can be used long term? And maybe Cipro?
I hope you find something that helps, abx or herbs.

thanks Beverly,
My LLMD said that he had found that Bactrim was not helping his patients, it was not that effective for them he said.
Ciprofloxacin is this used with Flagyl?
Herbs do nothing for me anymore, neither the collodial Silver, I need the strong antibiotics.
thanks,
Trish

What about Rifampin.

I thought Rifampin was mostly used for Bartonella?
Has anyone had success with rifampin for lyme? used with flagyl?
Thanks for the spread sheet, I found a mistake on this spreadsheet, I have it, so I question it. It has very good info, and lots is right, but it has a mistake, so maybe there
are other mistakes on it?
Here is the mistake it made. It says Clindamycin is a Macrolide, in my Medical book about antibiotics, it says
Clindamycin is a .
Maybe everything else on this sheet is right, but maybe not.
I cannot afford any mistakes now.

Hi Trish.....
I don't know if this will help you or not, but it has had quite an affect for my husband, and he's also allergic to penicillin (and Ceftin).
He has been taking the supplement NAC (N-acetyl cysteine .......1200 mg twice a day. It has the same affect as penicillin, and the good thing is it also supposedly helps protect the liver. So, you might want to give it a try??
He can take the NAC with no problem. Hope this helps.
