Foggy mentioned antifungal nasal washes in the thread titled "Frustrated with Mold".
Does anyone have suggestions on products that have worked?
I know I have a yeast problem...doing the anti-yeast diet, Diflucan/Nystatin for 8 months (taking a break right now) also on antibiotic break....the pressure in my head, ears, sinuses is getting unbearable. Ears ringing too.
I am thinking perhaps the antifungal nasal washes might help. I did a search and didn't find anything.

aba, I would see an ENT and/or Environmetal allergist about this. They may suggest a CT scan and an exam with a scope.
They can do RAST Ige tests to see what molds you're reacting to and target the treatment specifically. My MD said these fungal sinus infections can be very tough to treat, especially with continued exposure.
The Sporanox nasal wash is an Rx, so you'll need an MD. I tried the Neilmed.com nasal rinse with baking soda an salt but it just exacerbated my congestion.
Seeing a mold & Sinus specialist is a must.

I irrigate with a grossan irrigator. Saline water with some colloidal silver mixed in. While that will clean up the sinuses if you have polyps or other obstructions surgery may be needed.

This board is great. Thanks for the tip on the irrigator. I am definitely going to try it and discuss this with my PCP and LLMD.
In researching the Grossan irrigator looks like you can get a complete unit for about 89.00 or get a water pik with the grossan attachment.
Any feedback on the water pik versus the whole unit? I don' have a Waterpik right now.

Not really...both the same imo. Both have a output knob. Use the slowest and don't force anything. It might take awhile before being able to wash throughout the entire sinus.

What is Neti
Neti is an ancient yoga practice that keeps the nasal passage clear at all times. It thus prevents the build up of mucus, which is the main causes of cold. Neti is one of the six classical Kriyas (cleansing practices) mentioned in the Hatha Yoga and can be done in two ways.
Jal Neti
This is a fairly simple technique. You will need a neti pot, good quality sea salt and lukewarm water. The neti pot is a small instrument with a spout at one end, which fits into your nostril. This is a gentle technique, and it cleanses your nasal passage well.
How To Do It
* Fill the pot with lukewarm water and add a quarter teaspoon of salt. (You could also reduce the amount of salt if you feel uncomfortable, but a general measure would be one teaspoon of salt for one mug of water.)
* Insert the spout into one nostril and slowly tilt your head sideways. Do not inhale as you are pouring the water through the nose. The water will flow around the septum and out through the other nostril.
* Your nasal passage is getting cleansed. Pour half the water through one nostril, blow your nose vigorously and clear your throat.
* Now insert the spout in the other nostril and repeat, with the remaining half of the water.
* Though the water will mostly come out from your nostrils, some of the water may flow through your mouth as well. So make sure your mouth is wide open.

I had chronic sinus for years before being dx. with Lyme. I have tried the Neil Med product with the bottle that forcefully shoots saline and soda up your nose. It was too much pressure and left me with plugged ears.
I tried a nettie pot until it broke. Works well.
I have literally put colloidal silver drops down my nose. That works too. But start low because you will have die off.

I tried that Neti thing. Useless and made my congestion much worse. My ENT told me to stop. Neilmed lavage bottle and Grossan was much better for cleaning.
If you have a mold or fungal infection, simple H20 and salt cleasing may not help.

Hi, I started using a silver nasal spray from MSP research last Thursday.
Headaches, pressure,and drainage seem to be worse.
Hard to say if it die off or if the infection is getting worse.

On the antifungal spray I'm on shown above, I did the stupest lyme thing this morning. I wasn't awake yet, and was going to have my beginning of the day nasal spray.
I shook up the bottle good and then tried to spray it; couldn't understand why it wasn't spraying out but my hands kept getting all wet! Dumb me ... forgot to take off the clear plastic top! uffda Another lyme moment.

I've had long-term mold & sinus issues. I irrigate with salt water every day (basically the neti pot routine, but without the fancy pot), and it's moderately helpful.
I've found much more relief with an iodine-based product from Healthwise called the Facial & Sinus bath--you can find it here . My doctor recommended it, and I was pretty dubious, but it works quite well.
It's not exacly a nasal wash, because you don't pour it through your sinuses like saline. But you inhale some of it through your nose & breath it out while you have your face in the water.
It claims to be anti-fungal and anti-viral, and can be used everyday by children & adults. It's quite nice to use, and I noticed a difference after 3 or 4 days.
It costs about $20 a bottle (with shipping). I tried making a cheaper version with plain Liqui-Kelp iodine from the health food store, but it didn't have the same effect.

I think I read last night that it was you? that wanted to know contents of nasal spray sporax.
Just got my LLMD notes today & it says:
NASAL SPRAY CONTENTS I'm using:
sporanox 0.2% xylitol 4% bactroban 0.2% triamicinolene 0.03% nasal spray with 2 sprays each nostril twice daily, directed up & out towards the ear on the side that is being sprayed, dispense $50 ml w/2 refills.

triamicinolene is a steroid. I had bad results w.steroid nasal sprays. Made the congestion awful.
