So I go back to bed and now the other duty makes me get back up so I figured go down stairs and take care of it there and when Iam done take a shower which I did pretty tired yet so figure Ill go up take my abx's and maybe catch another hour sleep listening to tv which I did.

Now I wake up its almost nine I have to go again?? it feels like Iam going to explode ahhh but this Iam watching as I begin to pee I see a shot of bright red blood GREAT??? damn!! What the h*ll else do I need aparently I passed a stone? didnt see it here but deffinatly something tore me up.

Could be a kidney stone, could be an infection. The abx you are taking may not touch it. You never know.

If this continues, I'd advise you to see a dr to be evaluated.

hang in there!!! [Smile]

My theory is that when blood comes out with any body fluid, get it checked out ASAP. You never know.

Decades before Lyme, I did have some blood in the urine once at the beginning of a bladder infection.

Definitely have it checked by a doctor.

As many of us have experienced, Lyme can cause terrible bladder urgency and voiding issues.

But blood should be checked.

Please let us know what happens.

don't horse around with this one. Call your physician and get a call back to describe the problem. Then, do whatever he advises: office visit, urologist, whatever. Good luck and hope that you feel better.

Definitely, a lyme literate urologist or any good internist is called for! Could be a bladder infection? I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Guys My LLMD is aware of it not a infection he's a internist and a chemist he's on top of things pretty well.
I was told if anything worsens or dosent get better then Iam to call him.

Ouch Tree! Sorry to read about your painful experience.

My late Dad had UNDX CHRONIC LYME since age 7+ for 80 years undiagnosed correctly.

One of his many surgeries was bleeding from the penis; it was a prostate problem. I can't remember any more details as my Dad had at least 24 surgeries, many life-threatening including 2 heart valve replacements, etc.

Please keep on top of this ok. Glad you are talking to your MD about this.

Hopefully BLUEDOC Jon, MD, will come along and see your post too for his MD experience.
Take care my online friend. Betty [group hug] [kiss]

Hi there, I'm entirely new here, but have had kidney and bladder problems for decades now.

I'm not saying this is what is going on, however, the name for what you saw is hematuria. If you read about kidney function/insufficiency, you'll find alot about seeing urine that is anywhere from cola colored to red often caused by nephritis of some kind, either from inflammation, infection or chemical that irritates the little filters (can't remember the fancy name, glom something or others) in the kidneys and causes a dump of blood and/or protein into the urine. Just went through this last week. We feel my problem was being caused by a beta blocker I was taking for high blood pressure - Atenelol. I'm being weaned off of that and my urine is clearing up.

Anyway, for what it's worth, maybe some med you are taking is inflaming your little kidney filter things? Hope you feel better soon. Moosie.

It does sound like a stone. If bleeding clears up and no more pain probably was.

I have peed blood 4 or 5 times in my life. Not just a little bit, more like cherry koolaid. I was checked out by a urologist and he found absolutely nothing.

The bleeding was usually preceeded by a couple of sharp shooting type pains, nothing major and severe constipation. I also had interstitial cystitis...do guys get that?

Anyways, I found that if I kept the constipation under control it never happened. My guess is that it was something like a ruptured vericose vein. But even when scoped the doc couldn't see it.

So yes do get it checked out, but it doesn't always mean something major. Usually stones come with ALOT of pain don't they?

Wow Tree, sorry to hear about this-sounds painful! A friend of mine is just getting over a bladder infection. He said there was a little blood as well when he would pee.

Are you any better today? If not, please let a dr check you out ok?? Its not worth letting it go too long.

Nancy

I've had bleeding with UTIs, too -- can't hurt to just get a urine culture to be sure. Given the huge quantities of urine you describe, I'd be thinking something with the kidneys, maybe.... don't mess with that! I ended up in the ER that way some years ago.

Wow, Tree, 66 qts. of tomatos! Must going to eat a lot of salsa, etc.

How are you feeling tonight? I see you posted early this am. Take care my friend. Bettyg [Big Grin]

Yes, Men can have Interstitial Cystitis,too-and it is extremely painful and it causes frequent urination and nocturia(getting up at night). Best diagnosed by a cystoscopy and bladder hydrodistention-which it sounds like you need anyway.
