I am looking for any information and especially articles on Lymes Disease and teeth. I am looking for research to see if people who have been ill have gotten better once their teeth have been removed. My wifess doctor thinks that the Lyme may have manifested itself in her teeth and that antibiotics are no longer effective. Any information that you may be able to share would be appreciated.

Hi Dave, I do know that Bb loves the nervous system and will hunker down in the spine/brain and joints.
Many people's first symptoms are severe neck/head, jaw and teeth pain.
I have pain in every tooth...although I believe it is in the nerves that feed the teeth not the teeth themselves that are affected and inflamed.
I often wonder if having amalgams in the teeth attract the Bb to this area but don't know studies on this...(I have never heard that pulling out all the entire teeth resolved the infection).
Let me know cause I'd rather be toothless then have lyme any day...

Actual TEETH can't get infected. The roots can.. but that woudl easily show up on an xray. Do you mean amalgams, cavitations, etc as being a causitive factor in no recovery? if that is so, I DO believe that it can't hurt to get them out. Not say it will cure, but can't hurt to have poison and toxic decay removed from the body.

I am really tired so I hope I am telling you the right person but I think it is Gigi that has had posta with info on dental work and lyme.
I would try doing a search with her id or pm her. She is a very nice woman who is always offering great advice to help us all. I believe she is well now but she still comes on the board.
