Im still confused as to wther the abx are for healing or are for merely treating the symptoms instead of the cause.

I read on here where some people might mention how the medication makes their sypmtoms feel better, and then i might read where someone mentions they feel real bad. If your taking abx isnt it to kill the disease off or am i mixed up?

Mr. Tom,

Check out 'herxing', it's what most of us go through when we go on antibiotics.

It's caused when the killing of the bacteria releases toxins which cause current symptoms to flare up and new symptoms to start up.

It's usually temporary but also a good sign that the medicine is killing the bacteria.

Not everyone herxes, they just get better.

I've gone through it (still am for that matter) and consider it a good sign.

Good luck!

Mr. Tom,
Antibiotics are for killing the bugs, the root cause. The hope is that once the level of bacteria is low the symptoms will resolve.

While treating with antibiotics, some people also take medications for symptom relief such as anti-depressants, sleep medications, medications to regulate the heart rythm , and pain medications. These medications do not treat the root cause but make life much more tolerable for some.
