Has anyone experienced bladder pain? It seems to come and leave when the abx is applied. Also the prostate seems to be affected at these times.

Yes, This is a very difficcult symptom for me. I think it may be a herx when the bugs are killed in the bladder. Very Painful! Kim

Yes, I've had bladder pain, urgency and frequency off and on for years and I've been infected for years. I had a painful test years ago and they said it was interstitial cystitis which seems to be the diagnosis that is typically given when they don't know what's wrong. In his book, I think Buhner says that the ketes always infect the bladder.
I have noticed some differences in my bladder pain since being on abx. I had a period when my bladder felt a LOT better and now I have much worse urgency. I usually have constant pain in the bladder so even a brief period of less pain is great.
I've read that DMSO is now an approved treatment for IC pain. This treatment supposedly helps with pain and inflammation. Drinking lots of water and avoiding wheat will sometimes help reduce the pain for me. I'm convinced it is an infection that is the bottom line, probably borellia.
If you have a lot of bladder pain you should make sure that you don't have a urinary infection. If you do, you must be on the correct abx for your particular infection in order to get rid of it. Terry

YEP....not anything like it was prior to Lyme treatment. I have IC also. It ended my teaching career.
These symptoms (bladder pain and urgency) have gotten much better for me with continued abx treatment. Just a helpful has been the use of an ST8 light beam generator (frequency machine). It basically helps to eliminate wasted build up via the lymph system.

I forgot to mention that a candida infection makes my bladder hurt much worse. Perhaps check into treatment for yeast since you are on abx and see if that gives you some relief. Terry

I had very bad bladder pain and urgency for about three weeks last month. I thought maybe cystitis and took abx for that. It did not work, I got worse. What did work? I took some gel caps and filled them with baking soda and changed the PH of my urine. worked right away. I had surmised that perhaps if my urine was too acid it may irritate my bladder wall. I have not had pain or urgency since. It took about 1 1/2 days with two caps twice a day.

Hi,I had 5 DMSO treatments ,didnt even help at all.
I have a flare up if exposed to the smallest amounts of toulene, zylene,and now isopropyl alcohol.
