Oh, man I've been on a new antibiotic, and think I'm herxing.
It was scary because I felt like fainting ( low blood pressure ? ) and my arms felt numb. In addition horrible body aches, arthritus and chills.
Is it normal to have stabbing pains in the chest and arms ? Any of you have these symptoms?

I'm sorry you're herxing so bad. What antibiotic did you start?
I am concerned by your symptoms. Stabbing pain in the chest and numbness in the arms can be a sign of a heart attack. I personally would go to the ER if I ever had those symptoms.
I don't want to scare you. It could just be a herx, but you never know. I do get stabbing pains, but not in my chest. I also get numbness.
Have you called your doctor? If not, I would do so ASAP and see what they say.

I agree with Aniek.
please call your doctor asap and go to the er because stabbing pains in chest & arms can be a sign of a heart attack.
Lyme can cause heart problems no matter what age you are. If you are having a die off in your heart it can turn serious.
Best not to take a chance.

Herxes can hurt BAD. Big time.
Check with your doctor.
I was bedridden for many months due to herx's. Muscular pain, joint pain, incredible stabbing, shooting, awful pain. Plus confusion, profound fatigue, and periods of emotionality and depression, and unrelenting nausea.
I needed, eventually, low doses of morphine, prozac, xanax and ambien to get through them.
My herx's now, after 1.5 years of tx, are more like mild/moderate achiness, with some fatigue.
Just sharing my experience with a newbie.

Although I have come to see that at times there is only so much that can humanly be done.

My brother's best friend just passed away from heart failure. He was 22.
Most likely, it's not your heart. But chest pain is one of those things you get checked out just in case.

Chest pain is common with lyme and babesia. Sharp stabbing pains. Sometimes the keets will settle along the vagas nerve which can be very painful. At 19, it's probably lyme/babs related pain, however, you should have it checked just for piece of mind and to make absolutely sure nothing else is going on.

I ended up in the ER twice with heart symptoms while herxing.
Were you taking meds for babs??
I hope you will call your dr just to be sure.

I used to have heart pain like that when I herxed.It was more scary than any other symptom, really, for obvious reasons, but more often than not when I got it checked out nothing was wrong with the heart itself (herxing). But you should check it out. Do you know if you have clotting issues? I did, and after I stopped taking IV blood thinners the pain increased, so I would sometimes have to take something orally--like Boluoke or a troche.

Yes, I had those symptoms too especially the first few months of heavy duty abx.
The first time I went on Biaxin I had chest pain. Fortunately I no longer get this symptom. hats
