Has anyone with chronic Lyme had elevated cardiolipid antibodies? I saw a hematologist who said it could be linked to several things (of which he could rule out) including bacterias. I asked him if Lyme disease could cause the elevation, but he does not believe in chronic Lyme. Mine have been elevated since I contracted Lyme in 2002. Just wondering if it was linked to Lyme or if I needed to research further. [confused]

I think it is. Mine was elevated early during my treatment for Lyme. Later on, it resolved and is fine now.

Maybe you need more treatment??

I had this lab drawn recently. Mine was normal. I looked it up and I think it said something about it being a test for lupus, infections, coagulation issues. I can't remember for sure though.

Well, that makes sense. I was later treated for hypercoagulation.

After I was diagnosed with Lyme by a dermo, I was sent to a rheumo, who took blood, and tested this.It came back elevated, and he told me I had Anti-cardiolipiid Syndrome.
The other red flags for this disease are deep vein thrombosis, and multiple miscarriages--neither of which I have a history of. He couldn;t push me out of the office fast enough, telling me just to take some asprin, and I would be fine. No, he is not Lyme literate. (duh!)

Good Luck,
Jill
