I am going to get a far infrared sauna - I'm completely sold on the benefits and can't wait to get going. My husband is too big to fit in the portable one I've seen on Scott F's site, so we're looking at stand up models.
My docs have recommend High Tech Health brand, which is expensive. There are others at half the cost.
Anybody have any thoughts about why High Tech Health may be worth more $$? Or not?

We have had our HighTech for about 7 years. It was set up in five minitues. Takes minimum space (we got the smallest one they make). It is clean wood, clean materials. And most of all, we consider it a lifetime investment to last many years. We do use it several times a week. It is a perfect medium for ongoing detoxing of our everyday exposure in today's world.
Make sure you put it somewhere where you can leave the door open, etc. to air it out.
We have never been sorry even a minute for spending this money.

I also have a High Tech Health sauna and agree with Gigi's comments.
High Tech offers a sauna made of birch wood which seems to cause fewers problems with allergies. The High Tech website has a link to a wood working website that lists the differents woods and how prone they are to cause allergies. Cedar is pretty bad and that's what a lot of saunas are made of.
I love my sauna! I was able to buy it off craigslist for $1000 so it's worth checking in there from time to time.
