Hi, I haven't posted lately but I am here reading quite often. I am having some lung issues again. It feels like tingling or burning in the center of my chest kinda high. I also have a feeling like I have to cough.

Here is the funny thing, after a chest x-ray last year the doc called me and said I have copd but not to worry since it is common in smokers. I HAVE NEVER SMOKED I told him and he said huh thats odd.

They never felt the need to go further. I also have pain and slight swelling in my lymph nodes. What do you think? Could it be the ld or maybe babs even though I tested neg for all coinfections? Thanks for any info.....

What kinda meds have you been on?

Some time ago I developed a lung problem while hooked up to IV ceftriaxone.

The ducks could'nt determine if it was pneumonia or bronchitis...

It was probably lyme related cuz they could'nt and would'nt take my word for it!

I have been told I have emphazema which as a smoker I could attribute that to...

However only one doctor in a slew of them told me this and after xrays and mri's show nothing I suspect lyme.

I also have a cough that I have had all my life before I ever smoked........but had lyme.

So....perhaps you need some clindamycin or levaquin to address this issue as I have used in the past.

Can't say for sure but you may want to look into that.......zman

It's possible babesia. I wouldn't rely on any test for picking up co-infections.

It may also be the effects of the abx itself which can often lead to GERD or acid reflux. A sharp stabbing pain in the middle of the sternum may be indicitive of this.

I don't know what copd is but I will tell you my experience.

Before I was diagnosed with Lyme my primary was concerned after a chest Xray because it looked like mesh in my lungs. The radiologist wrote the Xray up as normal. I have never smoked.

Last August when I had another chest Xray (after two years of treatment) my primary was pleased because my lungs were clear and my heart was smaller.

I have other issues related to Lyme/Candida/Sjogren's but at least my lungs and heart improved some.

I also had high blood pressure and I had to take Avapro for a few years. It is now normal after treatment. Still have arythmia, mild regurgitation...but at least my blood pressure and size of heart improved.

I have been on ceftin, biaxin, doxy, zithromax, and some others. No IV as of yet. Most recent was low dose doxy for a month or so. Right now not on any.

Llmd had me try levaquin recently but i couldnt hang with it. Now llmd wants me to try rifampin just in case I have Bart. I am getting a little hesitant of the just in case treatments lately.

I will do it if I have to, I just want to take a little break from meds...

Hey there improver,

I have the same chest/ lung issues you do but w/ no copd. I do have other issues as occasional stabing pain in center of back, shortness and tightness in chest.

It was worse on babs meds, herx maybe?? It comes and goes. I've always thought it babs, but never tested pos for it, I know that doesn't mean poop in the TBI world.

It got better after the babs tx. Then a few weeks later BAM it's back.

I also have pain in some lymph nodes w/ swelling, lymphedema in arm. I think that is from bartonella??

Quite a tick soup mess in my body I've got going on.

good luck w/ your treatment.

Stella Marie
