Does anyone have experience with feet that itch constantly? The arches of my feet are raw with dead skin that peels off. The surrounding areas are very itchy with raised bumps but no skin outbreak. It looks like I have poison ivy all over my toes. My hands have similar bumps and itcing. I have been treated with antifugals for athletes foot, and no change so I use antibiotics on the open areas and cortisone on the bumps to try to control the itchy. I wash my feet several times and day and change cotton socks often. Any advice would be great. this has gone on for over 6 months and I am not on any medications. I was on IV last year. this showed up last year on my toes, and I thought I had poison ivy in my shoes so I threw them away. This year it is much worse.

Wow, that must be awful.

My homeopath keeps telling me that infections and diseases in the body will eventually manifest themselves through the skin. I think that's why so many Lymies end up with some kind of rash or skin issues.

Your doc may have to do a punch biopsy to find out what you have. But that is going to be really tough on a bony area like the feet!!! But there must be some diagnostic method to determine what it is.

I have ``lichen simplex chronicus'' - an itchy rash that can start with one little irritated, raised pore on my skin. If you have something like this, the only thing that will probably work is steroids. I have had to use prescription steroid cream to get rid of mine, so far, because the OTC steroid creams are not strong enough.

I don't know what else to suggest other than trying to find out what it is. That is the only way you will know how to treat it properly.

Hi there!

I had some itchinees on the bottom of my feet, but not to the extreme that you said. Never found the cause of this thing but once in a while I still get it and it seems to be related to yeast; no doctor has told me this, just came to the conclusion because at the same time I had some other yeast issues.
Also, if you are taking abx, ask your doctor and make sure is not an allergic reaction or a symptom of liver distress. I undrerstand that liver distress can provocke itchiness all over the body not just on the bottom of your feet, but it manifest diferently on every person; never hurts to keep it on mind.

Good luck, hope it gets better and you can find the cause;

Could it be Morgellons?

Hi Mac

the first thing that come to mind is
candida--

You can tell if its candida by squeezing
the dead skin on your feet with your fingers
for a few seconds--
If the skin turns- yellowish-
instead of pink- its candida--

Also your skin is a major way your body
releases toxins from your body--(Bo)

The skin on your feet is one of the highest
toxin release points-stinky feet--Jay--

I have itchy feet, along with an itchy knee. I use different topicals -- basically whatever works to take down the itching, found by trial and error. Caladryl on the knee, 2% ketoconazole topical cream for the feet.

It could also be an allergic reaction to something. Before I knew I was allergic to codene, I had bumps and itchy feet and later they were swollen. lymemomtooo
