My daughter has complained of some skin sensitvity in the past but today it is so bad she doesn't want to get dresses. Has anyone heard of this? Is this Lyme or a coinfection?
She has been treated for lyme and Babesia for the past 2 years with different ABX combo. At present she is only on Minocycline and Malarone. She is going to start Tindamax 2 times a week tomorrow.
Any ideas to help this?

She may want to check for Bartonella in Igenex.

My daughter is extremely sensitive...Bartonella is her diagnosis.

This has been my main symptom for about 1 year now. I was diagnosed with bart, babs and lyme. I already was treated for babs and bart and continue to be treated for lyme.
Where does she have the sensitivity or is it all over? I totally understand the clothing issue she is dealing with because my legs are sensitive and wearing pants can be very irritating. How old is she?
Of all the abx I have taken, I have found that the tetra and biax/plaquenil have helped to reduce the sensitivity somewhat but by no means entirely. I also find that some days are better than others.
As for what can help this...lidocaine patches can work well for select spots (if it's not bodywide) and there are also some medication like neurontin which supposedly can help. I havent tried the drugs but the patches work pretty well sometimes.
Good luck and let us know how things progress. And if you have some success with something, PLEASE let me know because I also want to get over this!

Thank you for your replies. I know this sounds odd but my daughter went into a haunted house last night. One of the rooms said do not go in if you suffer from dizziness. She went in and got very ill. She has a history of dizziness. She got dizzy, walking into things, nausea. After that last night this started.
She has had skin sensitivity in the past but very mild. She is having a hard time with clothes and it really hurts. It is on the back of her arms, her back and abdomen. Her brain fog is much worse today.
What are other symptoms of Bart? What is used to treat it?
We were just at her llmd last week but I am going to call in the morning.

What about MOLD ALLERGIES of exposure to lots of it wherever she was last night?
Have you ever had her extensively tested by good allergy specialist? I went to Dr. Kroker, LaCrosse, Wisc. for mine and it showed things galore with 10 types of mold allergies. Never knew I had them. Bettyg .. best wishes on your daughter! Posted by fatigued15 (Member # 6437) on :

Dear Fatigued, I have had skin sensitivities for many years. My skin will turn red, primarily on my limbs. I have had a few bouts of hive-like outbreaks also.
I was wondering if your daughter has sensitivity to the sun. Over the last few years I have not been able to be in the sun without total sun block.
If I forget to put it on, even on my hands for a quick drive to the store, I get red bumps which are very itchy and make me miserable.
I take hydroxyzine for the symptoms.
I am waiting on over a dozen tests to come back to Dr. J in NC. During my first visit with him he didn't indicate what these symtoms might mean.
I'm so sorry your daughter is suffering. It's devastating to know that. Sure hope your LLMD will be able to help her!

Thanks Janet, I know this is not from the sun. She has not been out in it. This is a definate sensitive skin for no reason. She has had it in the past but not bad at all This is the first time it really hurts and she can not stand clothes on.
Janet, Thank you for your kind words. It breaks my heart to watch my 2 kids this ill. They are slowly recovering but than these new symptoms pop up.

I have very sensitive skin. For years I could only wear silk tops or go commando to sleep. I could not wear denim for years, ( too rough and painful) until I went on bicillin.
I can now wear cottom, actually I only wear 100% cotton. I still cannot wear a bra as its way too painful and burns. I have dermatographia too.
If I stop the bicillin I cannot go out in the sun as I lose the ability to sweat. On bicillin, I love the heat and sun and sweat normally.
I empathize with your daughter. When I relapsed in 2000 I could wear no clothes at all or only tiny nylon shorts and I could not sleep in a bed as it was too hot. I slept on the cool laminate floor for months.
