Please pass the link on to your other Lyme groups and bulletin boards to help get the word out about Lyme literacy!
This has been an interesting issue so far! We had a doctors office in NY order 1000 copies and ILADS called and ordered 500 copies for their medical convention at the end of the month!
Please help us keep spreading the word!

That is such a wonderful article about Dr. B...
It made me cry!
But don't tell him. He will think I am a sissy baby.

You are a sissy baby ! But, you're right, great article.
In fact all of the articles are excellent except for Dr. Wiseass's stuff. Posted by national catastrophe (Member # 10011) on :
It also had some good articles about other things. The article about the danger of soda absolutely shocked me.
Read the other articles... Very interesting.

People can order bulk copies and the newspapers are free. I ordered 50 and it cost 14 dollars for the shipping. They are great to put in Health food stores, libraries, clinic waiting rooms, holistic health centers, etc. Use your imagination and let's spread the word!

I too ordered bulk [50 copies] and distributed them at doctor's offices, clinic's, etc. Paid only about $10 shipping. However, they are a non-profit so try to throw in a small donation.

That's terrific! It is something most of us (maybe not the very ill ones amongst us)can do to get the word out. People may not listen to us personally but for some reason when something is written in a paper it holds more weight

FYI...the PHA is not a non profit orginazation. I have not earned enough to file the NPO papers (over $500) PLUS there are so many strings attached that it is not worth the effort.
BUT donations are highly coveted as it helps keep me able to print the paper and increase ciculation that is not covered by advertisers...and WHEN (i believe it is not too far off)that the paper is fully funded by advertisers I hope to earn enough to offset my own medical expenses.
I can no longer work outside my home and this is the ONLY skill I have so I do what I can from home...and hope someday i will earn enough to take some of the financial stress off my husband for our medical expenses. We both have Lyme.
Some days you cant win for losing...I had a lady last week get upset with me that I hoped someday to earn money from this...as if I were trying to make a buck off the back of Lymies??
I am hoping to earn money off advertisers! This is the only skill I have to earn a living and it was kind of sad that someone faulted me for that.
But for the first 3 issues I had to go out of pocket to get the paper published. I am doing this for the Lyme community because I care...not to get rich...but it would be nice in the process to be able to continue Lyme treatment in the process by earning some money too.
So I just wanted to be UP FRONT AND OPEN about the fact the PHA is NOT a NPO orginazation...I am a small home based business.

I stand corrected Dawn, thanks for clarifying the non-profit aspect. Despite that, I encourage everyone to always send along a small donation to keep the magazine in operation.
Many lymies I now are completely intimidated by Lymenet, won't post at all, or rarely visit. The magazine at Doctor's office's is something they may page through to get the latest news. Additionally, it can bring a lot of new folks into an awareness of lymies plight.

I'm slow these days. Why would anyone be intimidated by Lymenet?
