Hi,

I am so far positive for Lyme and Ehrlichiosis, and have been taking Doxy, Biaxin, and Omincef (recently added.)

Lately, I occasioanlly "hear" some noises that don't exist in reality.

I "hear" the door bell ring (or knocks on the door), however very faintly, so I go to the front door only to find out there is nobody there.

I "hear" my youngest one calling me even when she is at school.

Last night, I "heard" her voice when I woke up in the middle of the night, or that "voice" woke me up. I waited to hear again before I got up, but I didn't hear any, so I decided it was just my "imagination."

The thing is that in reality, my hearing seems to be getting worse, so I shouldn't be able to hear something so faint.

But this seems to be happening a lot lately.

I have ringing in the ears almost all the time, although it is usually mild, but this is different.

Am I loing my mind?

Has anyone experienced something like this?

Auditory hallucinations are common with us Lymies, or maybe we are all just psychic.

You are definitely not losing your mind. A lot of us have had similar experiences. Biaxin really helped me with these problems. I see you are on biaxin now so it might get a little more pronounced for awhile and then fade away into memory once it clears up.

Had them!!!! and visual too. My son was standing behind me when I saw him walk around me and leave the room. I started to call for him when he tapped me on the shoulder and said "I've been standing next to you here the whole time....???" I couldn't believe my eyes.

I have had hallucinations of smell too. I'll smell cookies baking, someone smoking (no one smokes in our house) And I don't bake cookies anymore [Frown]

My son just had one eariler tonight. He smelled chicken cooking (hours after we ate dinner) and we didn't have chicken.

I think its just our brains playing tricks on us. I do know that my worst hallucinations were mainly in the beginning of my treatment. So it may get better for you [Smile]

Thanks for sharing your experiences as it helps me to know I am not the only one.

I think I have been "hearing" my daughter's voice on and off, probably even before I started the treatment.

The door bell thing is relatively new, and most lilely started when I added Omnicef to the mix.

Now that I think about it, I probably "hear" more things than what I described earlier.

Thanks again for sharing!

Dear Shizuko,

That sounds disturbing. Young children are always calling for mom and needing things and you are getting "extra" calls.

At least it is lyme and there is a reason for it.
I have read here before that the auditory hallucinations go away with treatment.

Hearing things- Voices- sounds is fairly common-
sometimes gets worse when herxing--

It lessens and goes away with treatment-

Ringing is Real common--
it also gets better but seems to take
alittle longer to stop completely--

I usually leave TV on to hide
the ringing- Jay--
