Have done a 'search' on thyroid problems, but can't find something I think I remember reading. Usually, drs test for T3, but need to also test for T4 .....or something like that.
I know the thyroid can affect the hair. Can it cause an older lady's hair to become thin just on top, not all over?
Would increased oil in hair have anything to do with thinning on top?

Yes, thyroid can cause thinning of hair as well as diabetes. Bettyg

Thyroid is not the only cause of thinning hair. It can be caused by medications, stress, age, hormonal changes (ie menopause), etc.
I'm also going through a phase of my hair falling out, but my thyroid tests normal. I really think the cause is a combination of the abx I'm on and my body detoxifying! (That's just my opinion!)
Just wanted to let you know it could be a normal phase of life and not necessarily a Lyme symptom.
