Can the original rash/bruise last for months? I have had the place on my leg for 6 months and doctor keeps saying bruise. My leg is getting worse - pains up and down it, cramps at night, and I am feeling worse each week. Newest symptoms is I keep having a sensation that I am running a fever, feel like my head is "hot" but I will be freezing elsewhere, hands, feets.

This sounds like something other than Lyme.
I would suggest you see some sort of other doctor for a second opinion.
