I have been treated for coinfections before.
? 1. fevers chills sweats for 5 and 1/2 days last 3 days bad and one day the sh*ts after real high fever.
Heres the question do you think this could be babiosis?

I havent had these fevers and sweats chills since 2001.

Or do you think it could be just flu?

I have been really tired and poop out quick for almost 2 years and sweat real easy and badly.

I havnt felt like this for years. Could we have missed the babs??? or just lyme?

Time travelling as well? You have Oct 19 in the subject, but it's only the 17th. I'm assuming it's a type.

Have you started any new meds or supplements?

If it is babs, would it really hit out of the blue like that? Maybe you just got hit with a new virus. Unless you have done something to strain your system lately?

I can attest to babs hitting out of the blue -- it did for me. I'd had lyme sx forever, but got hit with babs sx all at once in addition -- bam! I tested negative for babs, but asked LLNP to treat empirically, and she did -- sx cleared right up, only to relapse after off the ketek/mepron... definitely babs, definitely horrible.

I'm smack in the middle of a relapse of it right now, and have exactly what you have, except no fever, and the diarrhea is going on 6 weeks! NO FUN. Did I mention the head pain like an axe through the head, and the horrendous stiff neck????

I am so sorry to hear you are feeling so bad

If you have been pooped out easily & sweat easy & badly for 2 years -

could you maybe not have gotton totally rid of the babs in your past treatments ? Could it have been a perkin away for a while?

I hope its just the flu that you have been feeling worse this last 6 days or so. And you can feel better soon.

I agree with cave that the tests can be unreliable . One way to possible check if you continue to feel badly would be to start on some art or quinne or just tons of tonic water & see how you feel.

Some people who don't have babs don't herx on the above said herbs or supps. Could be a good idea or just a brain mis-fire

I have been getting headaches and stiffness too on & off weak tired now this sweats and chills ached hmmm. Thanks.

Hi,

We had a 1wk to 10day flu bug around here it was miserable. It is so hard to tell what is what when your baseline is feeling sick.

It could be the flu, in which case I'd hope you'll start feeling better soon. I had a nasty flu last winter and it took a long time to get over. I wonder if it wasn't something else going on. (Not entirely sure it ever really resolved.)


Treating for Babs is probably not a bad idea. I have constant fevers, sweats/chills and exhaustion and supposedly it's Babs, who the heck knows. It sure is getting old, though.

I'm sorry, I wish you felt better and/or do soon.

Tree -- hubby experienced the same thing with his babs relapse. The key to it being babs was the length of time the sx lasted (after a month we figured it really wasn't the flu) and the degree of anxiety he started experiencing again. Babs retreatment helped.

The other part of the picture was viruses. Antivirals were a great help (Valtrex and a very good brand of Olive Leaf (Seagate). In the hubby's case I think unaddressed viruses really complicated his recovery. I also think he got the flu for real, then succumbed to the mass of viruses he was already carrying around (high titers in Cocksackie, HHV, EBV, CMV according to the tests),which softened him up for the babs relapse.

Thanks minoucat I think Iam going to pursue this with LLMD on the Oct30th Dr appt, I know in my heart there is something deffinatly odd going on just not lyme just was bouncing it off all you guys for support.You Know really helps.

I have licked this several times only to be dragged kicking and screaming back down and this time I finally noticed all this sweating and tired pooped feeling for months even while being treated abx's for lyme.
Not babs too. In the past I was on abx's that went after coinfections but not recently. I may have Dr run tests for other virus's too $$$$ ?. How good is Igenex's babs tests?

I've got the flu thing going on....I think, and I hope. Sore throat, nausea, fatigue, hope that's all it is. Hoping, hoping, hoping.

My LLMD had to be tested for Babs 6 times, before he got a positive. He had all the symptoms and his doc was sure he had it, so they treated for it. He is now MUCH improved.

I also have had numerous Babs symptoms, but of course test negative.

A couple of years ago, I took my husband to the hospital with chills and a slight fever and it turned out to be a ruptured appendix.

Be careful with that self-diagnosis.

GIGI Iam not diagnosing myself My LLMD thinks its possible we missed when treating coinfections before. I was just trying to get support for my own piece of mind.
And considering babs runs along quite well with bartonella in tow here in the east in Pennsylvania.

I know I have especially in the beginnig many bouts with High fevers & sweats & chills and they stopped after a year or so of treatment But joint pain and tingly finger tips continued on for quite a while. Now I havnt had these fevers chills sweats since they stopped. But now there back and before I got these I have noticed for almost a year that I would sweat real easy then I started to get pooped out quick while still treating lyme and now the fever sweats chills just like before.

They feel exactly the same.
I have know lyme joint pain whatsoever except my left knee which I blew out a few years ago folded it backwards and the whole time I had lyme that knee never never hurt like lyme joint pain.

Tree, it really stinks to be sick after/while on 2 wks. vacation!

Several ideas are: 1) picking up the FLU while eating on the road with SICK FOLKS coming to work in restaurants!

2) 6 wks. diarrhea; would you have food allergies like GLUTEN INTOLERANCE...wheat, rye, barley, or oats foods? See if you get more diarrhead from eating that type of food.

Before my gluten/casein...DAIRY products, I'd have 8-15 bms daily! Once I found out about my food allergies, down to 1-3 daily!

At least IF YOU DO have babs, it means you'll finally get WELL since it will FINALLY be treated.

I still say EVERYONE should have a round of meds for babs to see if they have it. The tests are worthless.

I'm living proof of that!

Just wanted to say that I thought I was gettign Babs symptoms but it turned out to be another infection, in my case a UTI but it caused THE SAME symptoms...shaking fevers, chills, palps. I think any infection can heighten symptoms and make them appear worse raising your temp.

Could you have got stomach flu?? I think you should consider all the options and discuss with your LLMD...even with the best doc it is sometimes hard to determine what is actually going on.

:Thanks Iam considering all its possible its flu but I had weak tired pooped feeling & sweating easy for quite a longe time now. Its different than lyme symptoms I had before.
