I find it interesting how lyme effects each person
differently. I recently started treatment for lyme
and will do the Igenex test in two weeks. My son
is so ill with lyme he is out of school and
unable to do anything and so far I'm ok just tired
and sore and a few other things that I can seem
to deal with. I hope to continue to fight this
and keep on doing what I need to do. I think I
have had it for a while and now with stress it is
here. It just amazes me how complex it is and how
each case is different.

Hi Amy,
I think it hits everyone differently because for one.... we are different.
Not everyone has the same immune system some are better then others and can fight it off better.
We don't all eat the same, some people eat like crap (MSG's, nutrasweet, chemicals, margerine, hydrogenated oils, etc)
Plus there are hundreds of different strains of lyme. And not everyone has the same co-infections. Some people can have all of them and have a tougher time.
One other thing.... If you get re-infected over and over your going to have a tougher time getting well.
Or the fact that some have had this disease for years and years without knowing. Some are sick longer then others.
Heavy metals plays a roll also in healing.... you can't get well when your body is fighting those also.
The one thing I noticed in two of my friends that I finally convinced to get tested for lyme after being diagnosed with MS for 15 years+ was they had extremely high levels of heavy metal toxicity. More then I had ever seen. Their tox screen almost looked identical, but they are not related or live in the same area. But they are both in wheelchairs. Just seemed funny to me.
There are many factors as to why someone is more sick then others or some heal faster then others.
Hope this answers your question, Lisi (another michigander)
