Hello all.

I went to see Dr S(eye doc)in Branchburg, NJ.

She follows Dr Shoemaker's protocol called The Vision Contrast Sensitivity Test(VCS).

She did the test on me & I came out positive for neurotoxins...knew I would. She didn't say directly I had lyme but said I might have it.

I told her how back in the 70's I was exposed to a algea bloom & since then possible mold. I must say I was impressed. She's the only doc I've been to that really is getting to the root cause of diseases.

She's having me take the toxin-binding cholestyramine & a abx. She's raves about the cholestyramine. I normally don't take any meds. I can't even remember the last time I did. But I guess I'll have to give alittle. She really doesn't like any of the lyme tests that are out there.

But she did say she would order any test that I wanted. I didn't persue it. I'm going to trust her VCS Test protocol. I really think I'm going to get somewhere with this doc.

The protocol only makes sense. Any comments?

So your LLMD is an EYE doctor???? You didn't say anything about being bitten by a tick. Any history of that?

Cholestyramine is not an abx, by the way. Did you mean she is going to give you that in addition to abx???

Welcome! [Smile]

Mornin' TuTu,
Believe it or not, the only decent LLMD I know of who still takes new patients where I live is a shrink! (Unless you are willing to go totally alternative, with no ABX) So, an eye doc is not necessarily so unusual.

This psychiatrist is totally in our camp, and right out front with his feelings about other docs being idiots about Lyme. He is a Shoemaker follower also. His web page has excellent articles on Lyme. My only gripes are his arrogance and his prices.

I wondered why a shrink would get into this quagmire, but I understand his young son almost died from Lyme. That would do it. I'll take docs interested in helping us from wherever I can get 'em!

This helps some people who fail the VCS test, and doesn't help others. So, not a sure thing, but worth a try.

As lymetoo said, it is not an antibiotic. Most lyme treating docs use it with antibiotics, not alone. Or following antibiotics.

I've heard of one or two psychiatrists who treat lyme. That makes ALOT of sense to me. I just hadn't heard of an eye dr who was treating Lyme!

I was just checking to make sure he had a "real" LLMD. [Smile]

Hi Lymetoo.

The reason I went to this doc is because she's the only one I could find that's accepts my insurance & is a LLMD. Yea I questioned it at first before going there but as the visit went along it was quite interesting.

I don't know if I was bitten by a tic but I do show a ridiculous amount of symptoms. However I have been bitten many times by other bugs. Like spiders, nats, fleas, & mites. I do have this one rash on my leg, not bulls-eye, but has brought my attention to maybe having lyme in the first place.

I had it for at least a few years & it will not heal. At first it was really nasty looking. To this day it still tingles & itches. Dr S looked at it but didn't comment.

Yes I know Cholestyramine is not an abx. I guess I didn't word it right, I did edit my post. And yes she's having me take cholestyramine & a abx.

Thanks for the welcome!

klutzo...your post got me going.

Some years back I had really bad seizures for a few years ok. I was at the point I was very suicidal. Well my visits to the doc's were a waist of time...got nowhere. I did my own research & made the 'msg connection'. It led me to msgmyth.com. These people got rid of my seizures in a short period of time. They are not doc's but ordinary people like us here. They literally saved my life.

To this day I don't get seizures anymore. The point here is you don't necesarily have to see a doc for your ailments, just somebody that knows what their talking about.

Here's another example. Awhile back a celebrity came to me about his seizures. Yes you heard that right...a celebrity.

Well this person had seizures for over 10 years & seen countless doc's to no avail. Spend all kinds of money to.

So this person comes to me & in just over a weeks time I'm proud to say I've gotten rid of his seizures. Guess what...I'm a custodian.

I'm proud to say a award was given to me & a song was dedicated to me.

Again..it's a matter of talking to people that know what their talking about. Does not always have to be maintstream doc's.

Thanks for your post.

Hi betty.

Thanks for the congrats.

As for my celebrity friend. It's been awhile since we last talked on the phone or via email. But the next time we talk I will be sure to ask for his support.
