I am so in shock right now...

I've been feeling really awful lately, but most of you know about the gallbladder troubles I've been having. I meet with the surgeon next week to schedule surgery.

Well, the past week has been really bad and I've been pretty much unable to get off the couch. DH made a passing comment that the last time he saw me like this, I was pregnant.

Didn't think anything of it, because we use protection. But I took a pregnancy test tonight. And guess what? It was positive.

I cannot handle this. I'm so sick already, and so in debt, and already have three kids! We need a bigger house as it is. And I've been taking all kinds of meds and things, undergoing radiation for gallbladder tests...

I don't even know how to begin dealing with this.

Sorry to dump on everyone, but I don't know who else to talk to!!!!

This kind of reminds me of the ridiculous commercial for some home pregnancy test where the woman is jogging and says: "I can't concentrate. Could I be pregnant?"

I haven't been able to concentrate for years and I haven't had a baby for over 30 years now.

I hope everything works out ok for you. Let your docs know you had a positive home test and let them test you to be sure. I feel badly for all you are going through.

A healthy person would be exhausted with 3 kids and Lyme. Pregnant too? Jeez!!

Too bad you weren't too tired to whoopee! :-)

Now, this may be a stretch, but stick with me on this thought. It is well known in the Rhuematoid Arthritis circle that pregnancy stops all RA symptoms until several months after birth.

Maybe, just maybe, being pregnant will temporarily arrest the Lyme too. This would give your body a much needed break from meds and Lyme and this might be the best 9 mths you've had in awhile.?

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Luvs

I'm so sorry you're going through all this.

Could a false positive be possible?
some reasons for false positive?

I don't know if it would be any consolation but I had two miscarriages, both in the third month.

Considering how I felt while pregnant with my daughter, they may have actually been a blessing.

I hope, for your sake, it was just a faulty test. You certainly don't need any more on your plate right now.

I'll keep you in my prayers.

Well, you've named yourself Texas Chaos ! OK, here we go, curcumin or Chinese Gold Coin Grass will get that gall bladder running the slime that the liver needs.

Secondly, I know an Amish holistic practitioner that has something that may work even quicker, send me a PM as you can't get it through a supp farm.

Thirdly, there's a reason for this child not the blatant "fooling" around you did to get the first three, just kidding ! [Big Grin]

No panic, you'll make it and your family will be fine. Don't worry about money, Christ walked this earth for 33 years without shoes, it doesn't matter.

A baby is not a mistake even if unplanned. God doesn't make mistakes (although I do question why he created ticks and mosquitoes!) and each child conceived has a specific purpose.

I know from personal experience, that sometimes the timing doesn't seem right, but looking back, it was exactly right. It may take some time to accept the idea of having another child. It may also make the doctors sit up and pay attention to you since they are now treating TWO patients.

Thanks, y'all. I am still in shock, still processing the news.

Luvs - you're funny! Let's just say I was showing DH my gratitude for being such a prince among frogs. He has been a gem throughout my illness.

I don't think it was a faulty test (done this too many times before!) and I am sooooo queasy. I will call the OB tomorrow and see when they can get me in.

Anyway, I left the test on DH's nightstand last night so he would see it when he got home. At first he just looked at me like he couldn't figure out what was going on, then he actually SMILED.

He's from a big family and thinks "the more, the merrier", so to him this is good news.

I guess it is, but I just don't feel like I will physically survive this. I get really, really sick when pregnant. I actually lost weight with my first because I threw up so much. And right now, I am just barely hanging on as it is...

TXC,
I certainly couldn't say anything better than everyone else has already.

Sending you my love and am thinking of you.

If you need anything or want to talk to someone give me a shout, k? Not that I'm much help but I am willing. [Wink]

Hi Chaos!!

Just had to smile when I read your post. If you did a search on post by me you would find a VERY similar story from just ten months ago.

I remember too well thinking how I thought I was relapsing, thinking "you know I am a few days late, but no, it cant be...." and the tears when the lines turned blue.

I had just had two ct scans with the dye, was on several meds that were class D for preg and couldnt get out of bed most days.

Hubby and I now have 5 kids, a way too small house and income. But we also have a beautiful 6 week old baby boy that is perfectly healthy and lyme free according to the multitude of testing done at birth.

As overwelmed as you feel, all will work out. Will be praying for you and your family!!

Cheryl
