Hi I just began researching about cumanda and fell upon Dr Cowden's protocal ........not all of it but read how the combo with samento and cumanda helped heal many with lyme....
has anyone tried this ? and did DR cowden write any books with more info?
thanks so much

I haven't done the protocol per se but I did try samento for quite a few months (around 7). My LLND has used samento quite a lot for her patients and she said that you will not get better on it if you have babesia.

Sorry I can't tell you more.

Hi citrus. I haven't done it yet, but here's a link that explains it in detail if you're interested...

Good luck!

Hi,
If you do the whole Cowden Protocol, the way he wrote it, you can deal with Babs too. The protocol includes using Quina to treat Babs first, before treating Lyme. Print it out and post it somewhere so you can refer to it, since it is pretty complicated for a Lyme brain.

You can find it here:
www.samento.com.ec
click on "Lyme Borreliosis library"
click on article by Dr. Cowden near top of list

I have been on a modified Cowden for about a year. I saw more improvement in the 2 yrs. before, when I just took Samento all the time, and am planning to drop Cumanda when I run out, and replace it with garlic, but I will try to take both of them at once rather than alternating.

However, I cannot take Quina, or any other quinine derivative. My two Babs tests were negative, but I realize that means little. Artemesinin is also a quinine relative, so I am screwed, Babs-wise,since all quinines make me stop breathing. However, the Cowden will handle Babs for you if you are OK with quinine, and most folks are.

I also found the Burbur to be useless, and prefer chlorella with digestive enzymes for detox. I take it with each dose, just as Dr. Cowden suggests, but I take twice the amt. he suggests, and it makes a big differnce in herx sx for me. Some people say Burbur works great for them....so do give it a try.

I take the large doses of Mg, but prefer Mg Citrate, not the Malate he suggests.

I also do not follow the Blood Type Diet, since I have Metabolic Syndrome, which is not compatible with the Blood Type A Diet.

I don't know of any books by him, but if you find any, please post about it. Good luck!

Lynn, I thought you were on an abx regimen under an LLMD that you were going to be seeing again in November. IM Bicillin shots, if I recall. What became of that? It seems you're going off in another direction. Did I miss something? Not a criticism of this treatment modality, just confused.

[confused]

Hi Michelle I'm still on the abx protocal no worries.
But I am investigating alternatives and hoping to combine them.

I ordered cumada for yeast and found it has some properties for lyme so I became interested.

I know.........people will criticize that I should not do both at once..... but I don't seem to have very strong heavy herxes so i figured it may be best to do natural + abx and get the results--that's my instinct, we're all different.

I actually had a herx when I added cumanda so I ahve hope maybe this is th way to nail it.

I don't ever want a relapse with lyme and I finally want to move on with my life. I hate this illness more than I hate satin I think.
I would do anything to send it back to hell where it came from and be 100% cured rather than maintain it for the rest of my life.

I get soo mad when people tell me I may have this for the rest of my life and find a way to maintain it and deal with it. Hell no I won't, no way will I accept this.

Thanks fer the update, dear one.

However, I'd be runnin' it past my LLMD fer sure.

'Cause the herbal stuff is a long ways from being what you'd call innocuous.

Though I myself am not on an herbal regimen, I am convinced some of it is powerful, butt-kickin' stuff. We want chete butt kicked, not Lynn-butt.

Just be careful, please. OK?

[kiss]

Michelle
