Maybe I'm turning into a kook..but i just think we need to do something bigger.

It is GREAT...almost life saving finding each other online and talking to each other. Its therapy, its knowledge, it helps.

But, we need to reach the rest of the world one step at a time. As a single person..that could be difficult. But as a small group in different locations. Could be a serious step.

Id like to meet other people in my area and everyone else meet people in their area...and on the same day....go out in our Lyme shirts...pick a spot...maybe near a health facility and just do what protesters do. Hold up a few signs, SHOW OUR FACE, so people know WE exist.

I know some people in my family would SO want to be a part of that too.

I would guess our local news people would show up just to check out the hype.
And wouldnt it be great if all the locations did this on the SAME day??? That would be even more news catching.

Im so appreciative of the internet and my books on Lyme...but im F%#@in TIRED of living life in front of my computer screen!
Tired of explaining Lyme and its seriousness! And VERY tired of letting these Damn doctors brush us off while we suffer.

Lets get up off our *** , as painful as that might be.
PEOPLE WILL TREAT YOU HOW YOU LET THEM TREAT YOU.
ITS TIME WE EXPECT MORE.

Great idea! Even a small group can make a difference if they put their mind in it.

Coordinate actions over the country and the media will notice.

Hi everyone.
I was hoping for a more replies....but i know it'll catch on.
Id love to come up with a game plan. I can bring it up in the support groups in the bay area (100+) people. What other areas can we cover ?

lymesucks,
Would you so kind to edit your post by clicking on the PENCIL ICON and breaking up your SOLID BLOCK OF TEXT into short paragraphs?

Then hit the return key leaving one blank line between each paragraph; they we neuro lymies will be able to read/comprehend what you/others have typed! Thanks so much! [Big Grin] [group hug]

Just get on the show "Deal or no Deal" and make some bucks while your doing so. Wouldnt announce your agenda ahead of time. Just a casual mention of what you have. Millions of prime time viewers. Any game or talk show would actually do.

I have found I explain stuff to people,,,then a month to a year later they still have no clue and they never really listened or sunk in the first time. Explain again, they dont REALLY care, its not their ox that got gored.

Have explained to people and later they say, "Are you STILL sick with THAT???" They think you can shake this like they do a cold.

I thought so too when I first found out what I had. Take a few pills, back to normal,,,or so I 'thought'. Normal people just cant relate.

Other reaction you get is the words like "Every body has 'something' wrong with them!" Or "Everybody has aches and pains"

People memories are too 'short' these days. Do a march/protest on a Monday and I bet by Friday they will have forgot about it,,,mostly!! Do it everyday and its like a child yelling help or fire ,,,too often.

I think supporting the people who are investigating IDSA guidlines and their motives would be energy well spent. Protest specific ducksteers that promote bad faith theory.(and their actions) Like outside a IDSA conference.

But all in all, being on a national TV show will get you further than 10 miles of placard holding.

get the investigation of the IDSA guidelines story to be run in all your local papers,
and forward the info and a request to join Blumenthol to all other state attorney generals.

IMO, every support group should be organizing to insist that your state's attorney general sign on to this investigation as well.

IMO getting the guidelines issue in the news is important right now - there is momentum to this story already, and the media is picking up on it.

i'd say that is a good place to start right now so this ball that's already in the air doesn't drop.

it also tells the story in a nutshell.

doing local protests to the guidelines isn't a bad idea, but this story of the IDSA Guidelines investigation is fresh and newsworthy/newsready.
if you can get local media to be running it, it will get people talking.
