Lately every night I get that itchy 'whole body' like, restless leg syndrome, but all over my body. Being over tired tiggers it alot, also food like crackers, pop corn, and sweet things. Sometimes salt tablets help, sometimes not!!
Sometimes it is so severe cant sleep which makes it even worse!! having to itch the itch to get rid of the sensation for 5 seconds only to have it return someplace else.
Its alot like the motion sickness I get while riding in any vehicle or motion machinery or around an electric motor. I found chewing sunflower seeds or gum all day to help then. Then at night I get this triple whammy of the same pent up attack(it seems) and 'nothing' helps then.
Like last night I ate meat and potatoes only. Got it bad right after, why is THAT??? Cant sit still, read, do anything, constant up and down looking for a fix!! What the heck ails me???????IB--just don--

Hi Don
My first reaction was YEAST.
Then your comments about popccorn and crackers and sweet things aggravating it seems to confirm it.
Potatoes are also a no no when you're yeasty.
Hope you have some Diflucan handy... If not, go for the oil of oregano and capryllic acid... Posted by LisaS (Member # 10581) on :
Im not sure if this is the same as what you have or not, but it sounded similar. If Im actually feeling half way normal, I avoid eating all day because I notice after I eat I get this horrible shakiness and my heart beats hard and fast. The last time I had it was after eating at a certain fast food place and having chicken and potatos so maybe we should listen to what wshe has to say in the above post about potatos.

Just Don said...
"What causes whole body twitching and itchy, burpy feelings?"
I usually get that way about 3 days after being snake bit, while crawling through a poison ivy patch eating cucumbers.

Yeast and potatos go hand in hand - Whenever I eat some carbs now I also take 2 caps of candida clear that have caprylic acid in it - I had major yeast issues about 4 months ago that caused a lot of motion like stuff with ichy spots on my body along with nuero twiches -

Hmmm, I don't know Don. I had those creepy crawly feelings in my legs, arms, everywhere with Lyme just before I was diagnosed, so yeast was not an issue with no antibiotics yet. Nerve inflammation I think.
At first for me it felt like a bug crawled on me or I needed to itch that spot, then it went to muscle twitches and then the tinglies and jerks.
I would try the yeast elimination thing for a while and see if that helps. I hope you are not having a Lyme flare.
Best wishes for a happy turkey day.

I am also going to add to check for yeast too... good idea.
When you have a yeast problem... you need to avoid sugar.
Sooooooooooooooooo.. my friend.
My VERY good friend... until you are well again...
Can I have your candy?

Another potential is autonomic neuropathy. I have peripheral autonomic neuropathy and often wake up with the feeling you describe.
Since the autonomic nervous system regulates digestion, I could see it causing symptoms after eating.
For many with Lyme, the parasympathetic nervous system is weakened, so we are always in fight or flight mode. It's like your body is in constant stress.

Sounds like neuro Lyme. I had muscle twitches (espically in my legs) & dizziness & burning skin over whole body which eventually led to diagnosis of LD
Been on abx for six months now & have seen some improvement. Dizziness gone, sound sensitivity much better. Still have burning, but seems to be somewhat better.
If you havve neuro lyme, doxy & flagyl (& supplements) will eventually help. I take 100 mg doxy 2x day for 7 days, the 250mg flagyl 4x day for 2 days, then doxy, etc.
Also if i take 3 multivitams & calcium citrate & some adrenal supplement, the muscle twitches supside somewhat. Sugar aggrevates it.Good Luck.

I dont think I ever had yeast ever. How long would that hang on after taking abx. Its been years since I last used any abx. Cant remember what or when, its been so long.
It has been going on for quite a while,,,, but seems so much worse when I an real terrible tired (read overtired). Funny part is when I sleep it doesnt wake me up like restless leg is 'supposed' to.
Yep TC, you can have ALL my candy, (I dont like it).
I used to take nystatin when on abx. Always seemed to work well.
When I eat sugery stuff in the morning, or noon time,, it doesnt bother me at all. Just when I am trying to sit still at night
Potatoes have always bothered me some, for years, even at noon meal, IF I eat alot of them at one sitting. can feel it in my toes then!!!
But the burping and indigestion is second to none during the evenings. After I sleep, its all gone. When I first noticed the correlation between movement and gastric duress, I found that chewing gum or sunflower seeds alliviate the prob. BUT Not now at night, whats up with THAT!!??
I cant take doxy,,,had the worst sunburn of my life and spent most of the day inside and it was dead cold winter. Besides if its not on the $4 list of WAl-Mart specials rx, I dont take it!!
In old days thought maybe the flaggyl helped a very little bit. Could take massive amouts of it. tasted like a metal pipe but choked it down anyway!!
Funny thing is, in all the years since abx, dont think I have gotten worse, nor better.Same ole crap, day in day out, always the same!! What happened to the waxing and waning lyme is 'supposed' to have??? how do 'men' know they have yeast??? i still B --just don--

You could be sensitive to nightshade vegetables: potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant and peppers.
It is a very common sensitivity.

Don ~ I wonder if it's possible you need more stomache acid? Perhaps there's not enough to break down food and that's what's causing all the burping/gastric stuff.
I thought of that because of chewing gum helping. (Um... chewing gum would fool your stomache into creating more acid... thinking food's on it's way.) I have taken digestive enzymes wiht HCL in them and found them quite helpful at times.
As for yeast... Even though I'm not a guy; if I'm yeasty it's rarely ever in the usual female place. I'm more likely to get it in the intestinal tract. Coated tounge, grayish, furry looking sometimes, starting at the back, bad taste in mouht, difficulty digesting properly and also feel drunk from eating cetain foods.
If I eat and it makes me drunk, that's a sure sign.
I have also had a rashes from fungal infection but they were more like red itchy peeling patches, not fun but very different from the normal roving itchies I get. I think they are a neuro thing as is the feeling like you need to shake the weird feeling out of your arms and legs.
What sometimes has helped me with the restless feeling and twitching is Valerian root. Ok, it does smell like nasty dirty socks (the tincture is less nasty to take then the capsules, egad, you need to open the bottle of them outside the house it's so awful). It helps calm some of the neuro weirdness and makes sleep a little easier. Valium will do the same thing.
I'm not sure if you can take valerian with whatever other meds you take but you could call and ask the pharmacy or the vitamin store.
ok, not sure I've been any help at all. Another thing you might try is ginger of some sort for the motionsick feeling or maybe even peppermint, some people have good results with that for digestion just not me. (Makes me burpier.)
ps. I think both doxy and flagyl are on Walmart's list. Not that we want Doxy, it doesn't agree with me either.
I hope you are doing better, now. A little rest ought to go a long way to helping.
hugs and stuff for now, TBF

Thanks Aniek and True Blue for your posts, Aniek- I tried the nightshade diet a long time ago and didnt relly feel any different LLMD said it would make me feel so wonderful. I do notice black pepper makes my OA worse and alot of taters affects me for a little while. and tomatoes in excess makes my OA worse too. but a little in moderation doesnt bother so much! TBF-Wow what and insightful and meaning ful post,,,I better print that out and reread it for a few days for it to sink in. I only take pain meds NOW and a few supplements, also for pain management. Just a fraction of what I WAS taking trying to fight this crap. I sorta give up I guess, just trying to make the day to day pain bearable and live with the rest!!!! It really is a steady ride, unusaul for lyme, I know. Now if only I can conquer this night time affliction,,,maybe going to bed earlier might help,,,so I am not so tired. I like to watch night time TV tho and tape one channel and watch another, then try to catch up on my watching. It will help in a few days when the stressful fall duties are behind me,,,if I ever get past the constant breakdowns and get to running well for a few days!!! I might ask for this info again in a few days,,,when I actually have time to do something about it. Cant even get to town these days for shopping trips. THanks TBF--cause I B --just don--
