Is it typical in a Lyme infected person to have a low White Blood Cell Count ... say under 4.5 ? Any other indicators on a "typical" blood test that might reveal some weaknesses associated with Lyme ?

It has occured and the WBC has been seen to increase to normal levels with treatment. Still it is not typcal to see this. Perhaps a co-infection may be involved if lyme has already been verified.
Also note that there are other causes for this which occur more often then lyme does so these should be investigated also or perhaps first.

Frequently Lyme patients have "normal" bloodwork on routine blood labs. I have read where one doc thinks that a high monocyte count (part of the white blood count differential) could indicate Lyme. The actual WBC itself could be normal, but the differential could be skewed.
Sometimes the various liver enzymes might be elevated.
With Babesia the RDW might be elevated or the LDH (not frequently tested) or total bilirubin. There are other things which would have to be ruled out before these markers would be relevant.
Very bad babesia could cause anemia as well.
A low WBC might possibly indicate ehrlichia or anaplasma as it is now called.

Your levels could drop due to a drug serum sickness type of reaction, or many times a co-infection is responsible. Rocephin made my WBC fall through the floor. Be very careful.
