has anyone tried his protocol which consists of diflucan + any of the following penicillin derivatives: cefalosporine, roxithromycin, cotrim-TMPO, and clarithromycin. If so, Can you accurately report your experience as fully as possible. thanks

My husband has been sick for about a year with many misdiagnoses. He was put on high dose prednisone for his interstitial lung disease and supposed dermatomyositis.
After about 5 months of that treatment a bronchoscope discovered candida in his lungs. The doctor put him on Diflucan 100 mg. once a day.
Week by week he improved. Unfortunately, he was so encouraged by his improvement that he dropped down too fast on his prednisone.
That combined with a pneumonia vaccine and 10 hyperbaric treatment completely reversed his improvement. I was very curious why he had improved and felt that there was something more going on than the yeast problem.
I found Dr. Schardt's study and decided to have my husband tested for lyme. The test came back positive.
I don't know if diflucan is the complete answer but it definitely did something positive for my husband. Over at www.rheumatic.org many people are taking antibiotics for autoimmune/rheumatic diseases.
Some of the people that for some reason don't make improvement seem to make great strides once they get on diflucan. I know alot of them think it's just the yeast that was holding them back but I think there may be more to it.
If you do it, make sure you take milk thistle, NAC, etc. to protect the liver.

the article which was cited was from may of '05. I'm sure that someone + has tried this protocol. thanks for your incidental info that your hubby improved some on it. btw, can you explain more on the milk thistle and other protecterants for the liver

how about similar: was on biaxin and plaquenil didn't feel right, so i had previous rx for vfend. right being, stomach aches, sore eyes, no taste buds, headaches. used vfend for 6 weeks, and now feel almost in remission again last one 2 years ago. my knee surgery friday is completely healed and the doc never saw abything heal so fast.
