Has anyone else had severe tachardia/palpitations with artemesinin? I had to stop it last year and thought it was an allergy. My doc thinks it was a herx. Whatever it was it was strong enough to kill me. I'm not a wimp with this stuff.

Has anyone else had the heart problem with artemesinin and then later been able to tolerate it after a week or a month of mepron?

I just started Mepron and am taking a beta blocker along with it to slow my heart. I am having heart things going on but they are far less intense and sort of in slow motion (thank goodness for the beta blocker! [Smile] ). The idea of certain babesia species causing "slough off" of broken red blood cells seems right. That's what it could be- loose clumps or bunches of the stuff going through my heart. That description could match the headaches I'm having too- not intense and not long lasting. All of this is sort of bubbly-feeling.

Asprin seems to be helping too- thins the blood, so maybe that is what's happening.

Thanks, But will they calm down enough for me to possibly add artemisinin? See my reaction above?

I better ask this better on another thread.

My doctor gave me beta blocker to calm my palpitation.

However, I never convinced me to take it. I was figuring that palpitation might be a compensative reaction to the impaired blood circulation caused by Babs, and good thing to the body.
