I have been taking Doxycycline for three weeks after being being diognosed with lyme.
My dr. said this drug would not likely cause a yeast infection.
He was wrong. Has anyone else had problems on Doxy?
I would also like to know if it is safe to have sex with a vaginal infection? Can this be passed to my husband?
Just another symptom added to the list.
Any help appreciated.

I have been on doxy for a year and have yeast problems too .
ALL ABX cause yeast problems. I take acidophilus and drink kefir for friendly gut bacteria, which helps.
There is a product by nutrimedix called ( herb drops) cumanda that has strong antifungal properties and has been discussed favorably . From what I have read, it is so strong that you should start on one drop a day and will probably not need to increase to more than a few drops a day .
Yeast can be passsed back and forth with sexual activity.

Not only can yeast be passed back and forth between partners, but you can also re-infect yourself with bath towels, too ---
A lot of us (me, for example) are prone to yeast infections, even before antibiotics.
I've been on diflucan as a part of my treatment protocol, and it helps tremendously!
Also, a low-carb diet helps keep yeast in check, and of course lots of probiotics....

Cumanda does work incredibly well. I take 20 drops twice a day, and it finally got rid of the trush in my mouth.
Diflucan works great as well. But after over a year, I found it no longer worked. But Diflucan could clear up the vaginal infection very quickly.
You might also want to just get an over the counter cream to get rid of the vaginal infection since it's a long weekend. You will still need some longterm yeast control, but that should help the symptoms after a day or so.
You should also start taking probiotics. Theralac is a great brand you can purchase through their website. Many people on this board saw major improvement taking it.

I'm on Doxy and find that I have had symptoms of a yeast problem despite prophylactic measures. Terry

I've been on doxy for about 3 months of 300mg a day. I also take probiotics. My LLMD prescribed diflucan also.
I take the diflucan 2 x a week. I am currently off of doxy and am on zithromax 500mg a day with malarone for babs, but I still take the diflucan.
You can pass the yeast infection to your husband.
It is miserable but eliminating carbs and sugar from your diet helps as it feeds yeast.
