There is a show on Discovery Health Channel's, Mystery Diagnosis called "The Stabbing Sensation" that is being shown quite a few times. My lymie friend wrote me about this that "it is is about a teen girl who had severe incapacitating joint pain, fatigue, etc, She was misdiagnosed time after time and finally told it was all in her head. She met a girl who had Lyme, who felt that is what she had also, and turned out it was! She had long term IV antibiotic therapy and was able to graduate high school. She was still taking meds after over a year and a half. Her Lyme Dr was interviewed and said the tests are not reliable (she had been tested previously, came out negative) and that Lyme has to be treated with long term antibiotics and never gets completely cured, but can go into long term remission."

Go to this link and scroll down to Jan 1, Jan 2 and Jan 7, 2007 "Mystery Diagnosis" The Stabbing Sensation". This is the show. It was on last night, and will be on again this Sunday.

After doing a search, I found that evidently it was aired in October also.

According to my friend Karen that watched the show again last night, the girl featured on the show lives in NJ. She is now involved with a group trying to get the deer population in her area reduced as she feels she got Lyme in her own yard. After googling I found the girl's name to be Jacqueline Spar. She is a young girl I think about 20 years old. If you google her name, it pops up quite often. Her name is mentioned briefly here.

Thanks, I looked for that (Deadly Bugs), but it's not listed for this month. Hopefully it will air again for I would like to watch that one also. Thanks again. Mary V

I met Jacque at the Lyme conference in Philly in Octboer. She's a great lady. Still working through her treatment like most of us, but it was great to meet her. The program is well-done.
