Started Doxy 100mg 2x/daily. By the third pill, I was wide awake, muscles tense, throat tight with swallowing lump and speedy.
LLMD's nurse said to cut down to 1 pill a day to ease into a baseline dose. Will work up from there.
In the meantime, I'm so wired that I can't sit still muchless think.
Anyone else have this reaction? Any advice?
I want to get passed this so the doxy can help!

Hi Wise,
Oh, my gosh...I herxed on the first 300 mg of doxy I took over a day and a half period. I had severe disassociation, heart attack symptoms, my joints in my fingers literally swelled so badly that you could see the inflammation occuring with in minutes.
You are most likely herxing. The only way through it is to stick with as much treatment as you can stand. Drink lots of water, get your lymph system moving whether it is through manual lymph drainage, gentle walking, or rebounding lightly on a little mini trampeline.
Also detox baths with hydrogen peroxide (1 cup) and 2 cups of epsom salts in a full bath tub...soak for twenty minutes or more.
Hang in there. It is actually a good thing you are having a herx - it means the little critters are dying.
Take care!

I had that happened to me on my first time too. I found eating was helping me I was fine then. Doxy always helped me till I went off it. Then I would go right back to the way I was feeling.

Thanks Lymied and Cara,
I feel pretty rotten on the doxy, but then again, I felt pretty rotten on no meds.
The anxiety and mind-freeze is pretty scarey. I can't tell if the lump/tightening of my throat is anxiety or otherwise, so I'm keeping my Benedryl handy.
I don't have an appetite at all, so the reminder to eat from Cara helped. Also, I've been drinking lots of H2O and tried rebounder bouncing. If anything, it distracts me.
I have no energy simultaneously with lots of energy due to the speedy feeling. This means that I want to move around a lot but feel tired, so I end up standing still and staring at the tv or out the window. Really have to remind myself to keep moving.
This ride is not easy. I'd cry if I could slow down to do it! Hope it's a herx and not brain rot...
