On one of the threads Bea brought up a site that had several Lyme protocols. One mentioned ledum for animals and the vet said it is effective in humans as well.

Has anyone tried this and if so how effective was it? Where did you purchase it?

Always looking for new ideas. Hiker

Tried it before we knew any better.

Fact is, homeopathic remedies are not harmless. Using x remedy for y ailment is incorrect homeopathy and can add to your disease picture - especially at the high dosages given in that protocol.

If I had known then what I know now, I would not have tried it for Mom. I regret to say that using it complicated her case and gave her no benefit at all.

If you want to try homeopathy, don't self-treat. Get under the care of a competent homeopath.

Yes, I have completed about 3-1/2 months of Ledum, under the guidance of a homeopath. I think it exacerbated some symptoms so, I am taking a break to see if I feel differently off of it. Will go back on in a couple of weeks.

I am doing this along with abx, under the supervision of an LLMD. They both are aware of the combination protocol. I would say it is an experiment at this point.

We'll see.

Hiker, you can complicate your problems by trying to treat yourself for any chronic condition with homeopathy, and Ledum is just one of the homeopathic remedies out there.

What Mikken said is absolutely true - find a competent homeopath if you are looking for help with Lyme or other chronic problem.

At my request, a Naturopath gave me a high-potency Ledum remedy last January, but he didn't instruct me well on how to take it and what to pay attention to, and I took it too often for way too long a period of time. And I've experienced some mental and behavioral changes the past year that lead me to believe that by taking the remedy improperly, I've added more problems to my own case. NOT GOOD.

Beachcomber, the ``exacerbated symptoms'' may be a good sign that it is working in your case, and your homeopath should be able to assess that and adjust the dose/potency/frequency to relieve the aggravations you are experiencing.

yes...it seemed to kick up my immune system a bit and i felt pretty herxy...didnt stay on it long enough though. I took it in 200C potency, but also have a vial of 1M around...but i agree, when dealing with that high of a potency, you should consult a homeopath.

You should be able to get 30C easily in health food stores though and the smaller health food stores can usually custom order higher potencies for you.

it works well for my dogs! but then again, they generally respond quicker to abx too.
