She's been very vocal about having Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, which tends to strike dancers and athletes. I have no reason to believe otherwise.

I remain extremely conscious of NOT making everything about lyme disease.

I'm seen Paula's tape and to tell you the truth, she seems either strung out or has ALS with her jerky body movements and slurring speech.

At least, my take. Of course, I could be wrong. [Smile]

I'm a firm believer that everyone with so many symptoms doesn't have lyme and will never try to "fit" them into our disease...it is wrong for both them and us.

I told my doc just a few days before having my MRI, I don't care what I have, or what you call it, I just want to know what is wrong with me and how to fix it!

I feel lucky that the MRI came back "clean". It's good that I don't have MS or ALS. I'll take that and continue on my lyme treatments.

I am not my disease...whatever it is...I am me, whatever label you put on it..the disease/illness is secondary. But eliminating the other devastating disease leaves me with, 'Ok, I have lyme and no one and nothing seems to bring me back to the person I was".

Sucks!

[Smile]

OMGosh....you all didn't even READ this! [lol]
I think Lesley caught on.....she says read the disclaimer.

I suggest you do, with a grain of salt!!
It's supposed to be amusing, tho I'm sure Paula wouldn't think so.

Well, I sure don't know what's wrong with Paula but believe to know what's wrong with me. I have the jerky body movements, slurred speech, little fine motorskills, loss of balance, acute pain, nightsweats, brainfog, etc. My neuro thought it was MS, but a Bowen Test showed a high population of Borrelia. Am I in the wrong forum now? Sorry for coming across a little testy, but I have a lot of symptoms and will try Lyme treatment first before putting up with a chronic disease that can't be healed.

If Paula should have Lyme, it would raise awareness which is a good thing for all of us.

warmest wishes from Arizona,

Sonja

Sonja, I am so sorry......just b/c I don't have the jerky movements doesn't mean you don't have lyme.

I am so, so sorry. Did not mean to upset you...my symptoms are completely different. But I still have lyme too.

Are we ok?

Yes, that link is fiction, although parts of it may be based on facts.

The other day I saw an article about Paul Abdul making nonsensical comments.
About two contestants, she said, "Simon says because one of them ate pizza and the other one ate salad."

To me, this sounded like some of the things Lymies say when they intend to say something sensible.

Certainly someone with a complicated medical history, whose doctors cannot figure out what's wrong, should consider tick borne infection.

And reflex sympathetic dystrophy has been attributed to Lyme.

Poor Paula, she has to go through all this in the public eye.

Well, you never know*)!*!)! Maybe she does, maybe she doesn't!! But Rosie O'Donnell knows about Lyme because her daughter had it- and she was making comments about PA so maybe she will put 1 and 1 together and... Lyme disease will be all over The View and the truth will out*)*!!
You never know*)!*!)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And then tons of federal funds will go to Doc B and Doc S for Lyme research & we will all get better and live happily ever after*)*)!!*)!*)!

YAY!*)*)!

(Or not*!)

I read about her saying she suffers from RSD too. It is also known as Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome.

Yes it does strike very active people or people who were injured in an accident but also is caused by an illness such as lyme disease which damages the nerves causing the horrific pain syndrome.

So with that she could have been on medication to help control the severe pain and it affected her ability to function normally.

Like they say, walk in my shoes for a day before making a comment.

Personally, I do not to wish lyme on anyone and the damage it can do but things seem to come to the surface when a famous person is affected by an illness.Who knows, lets wait and see where this goes.

Among others she made an error of driving against trafic on highway and was not under influence at the time. They debate some rare brain side effect of some pharmaceutical she took at the time.
It is a stretch of medical science to its limits in my opinion.

It is impossible to say what she has.

Lyme is a possibility (I remember times when my lymie brain confused red and green traffic light) but could be something else.

I read an article that her severe pain problems were treated successfully with a presciption immune suppressant.

That's a dangerous solution in my opinion.

I hope she's O.K.

back when rosies daughter had lyme and got treated i wrote her. i didn't get an answer. i heard her speak about it once. she said-something like-"no big deal-she had it -she got treated-she's better..." with that attitude she won't be much help to us
