Any one here treated their lyme and co infections with only natropathic protocol?

I am considering doing it instead of the IV Rocephin for a year that I am about to start and using a natropathic docotr as an alternative. I have had so many probs and health issues as a result of the 10,555mg of amoxy a day and all the babesia drugs, I am now very worried what a year of IV everyday Rocephin through a PICC line will do to my body!!

My natroptahic doctor, whom found my lyme after 7 years of docotrs missed it, would be using a protcol using a lot of bio resin (I think he said)work, herbs, accunpuncture and strict diet. My health insurance covers him also!!!!!!

Thanks

Hi Debs,

I can't be critical of a natural approach because I do believe that there is a limit to the amount of medications we can put into our bodies. I chose hyperbaric oxygen for that same reason.

Blessings to you,

Julia

i have had chronic lyme for nearly 10 years.
i did about 5 years of antibiotics with some of the best LLMDs(the ones that speak at lyme conferences)
i spent about a year on iv.
i have since gone to natural things and have been healing like never before.
its very important though i think, that you get the right things. some of the wost times in my life was when i was relying on naturopaths and such to cure me with their methods, because they didnt have what it takes, nor did they know what they were really doing.
i think generally that there is no silver bullet either, especially not naturaally. some treatments are very strong, but as sick as we all are, why pile as many of these things up as you can. i do a bunch of natural things like ozone, salt and vitamin c, kmt, silver, wild orgeano, and others. i tend to think ozone is stronger than hyperbaric. it is cheaper for sure. it acts as a killing agent for all pathogens. 6x stronger than bleach, but harmless to cells. also a raw vegan organic diet has done wonders for me, more than i had ever hoped. i have learned that diet has so much to do with disease. whenever you eat cooked food, your body sees it as foriegn and attacks it until it leaves your body. this ties up the immune system, also you lose all the enzymes. additionally raw sun food is light energy.
one of the most important things i did was start to take my life into my own hands and actually read and begin to understand what i was doing. now i am looking at all the things that are making me sick and all the things that make someone really healthy.

Debs,

I'm still new at this, so can't really offer advice. My LLMD is actually a N.D. so he uses a combination of abx and Zhang and other herbs.

But my question is that you said you have an N.D. that is covered by insurance. I saw a N.D. for three years and he too was the one that diagnosed my lyme that all the specialists couldn't find.

But most insurances I find will NOT accept anything done by N.D. unless you live in Oregon. So I was just wondering if you have a certain insurance or how he gets covered.

I sure would like some help with insurances so everything isn't out of pocket.

antibiotics = king. much if most of all else is adjunctive. its critcal to get what abx into the brain that you can.

So there you have it -- the gamut of opinions.

As for me, ever the intermediary, I think that the first approach should be the proven science one -- antibiotics. However, there are those who have given that option a more than fair shake (see break-the-chains' post), but can't continue on an antibiotic regimen, for whatever reason.

For them, alternative treatments may be an option. But I would caution (as BTC said) to read up, and find a good practitioner to help you. There are a lot of creeps out there who would love to sell you their magic cure for Lyme.

Take care,
Shaz

both zhang and buhner say it's best to use some abx---then support and maintain with herbs.

First cause no harm.

Building up your body with diet, herbs, infared saunas, (not all these things but whatever your body needs) is absolutely critical to healing.

You can bombard your body all you want with abx and if the foundation is not sound, you will just get sicker and sicker.

Abx are toxic...period. What's the science say about that?

In my case, I have had abx almost every year of my life, mostly for tonsilitis, bronchitis, strep throat.

Finally, Lyme struck and I was given 6 mths abx after which time, I felt well. But then over the next 10 yrs came the migraines, short term memory loss, stiff neck problems, hearing loss and finally migratory joint pain.

Diagnosis: Chronic lyme. But this time, no one wanted to give me abx. They said the abx create superbugs and while abx treat acute illness, they actually can bring about chronic illness.

THANK GOD THEY KNEW THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My healing is taking time, but I am progressing and fully believe I will be completely well once I eliminate the majority of my toxic condition.

Diet is critical! Nourish your body. Make every bite of food count. "Let food be your medicine and medicine be your food" Hypocrates.

3 things my doctor is focused on:

1-Stay alkaline
2-Gut Health
3-Detoxify

I believe the years of abx and especially the 6 mths treatment for my initial lyme, deteriorated my body to the point I could not fight off any pathogen and my liver could no longer remove the toxic load.

Had the 2 current LLMDs (including one from ILADS) not been so concerned about abx in my treatment, I would probably be as sick as many on this board.

Abx are not always the right choice.

But bringing your body to homostatis (balance) is always necessary in order to truly heal. This is true even if you are on abx. In fact, it is most necessary when taking toxic drugs.

I'm passionately serious about this.

Here is a "Science Based" website about liver health.

All abx's based on the natural anyhow.
When and if they come up with one that works quickly and thoroughly all natural ie plant, fungus, mold, or even another bacteria that attacks or destroy's borellia spirochetes and dosent destroy the host me you. Ill be first in line.
