I need some help with trying to take my meds. Can anyone tell me if any of these can be taken together?
Malarone 250/100 at four times a day
Zithromax 500mg at one time a day
Bactrim DS 800 at two times a day
Flagyl 250 mg at one time a week
Diflucan 100mg at two times a day for current yeast infection
I started the flagyl this am with a meal, but I am so chicken I only took half.
Additional supplements, probiotics, etc are being taken also.
Just curious if any of these can be taken together as I am herxing and having a real hard time keeping meds straight as well as time I took them.

The Malerone I think has to be taken away from the Zith and has to be taken with alot of fats for it to be absored well.
The diflucan & probotics should be taken away from abx, my LLMD told me to take probotics 2 hours after abx, to replenish good bacteria.
Not sure about the Flagyl or Bactrim, I am sure someone else wll come along who has been on this regiment.
But man, thats ALOT of abx! I don't think I could handle that much. And the zithro/malerone/flagyl/diflucan are all REALLY hard on your liver, make sure you get your liver tested often! My sons who are adults could only take the pediactric dose of zith/malerone, when they were on it.
If it it too difficult to handle, talk to your LLMD about starting you out at a lower dose then ramp up if you can. None of my family members could take those doses.

Just saw my LLMD on Wed of this past week. He added the bactrim and flagyl and said to keep on taking the malarone and zith.
I've been on diflucan two times a week, but had lots of yeast on this past visit. Am to take 200 mg 5 days in a row, then go back to 2 x a wk.
Thanks for the suggestions and input. I do get my liver enzymes checked every visit and so far so good.
I only have to take the malarone and zith for another 28 days, then it's back to doxy 300mg with flagyl and bactrim.
Hope my liver lasts that long.

I take malarone and zith at the same time.
I am taking doses of meds similar and higher. Yeah, it is a lot, but everyone is different. And we obviously don't know the best way to treat it--yet.
I have had no liver problems.

Just a quick update. Spoke with a pharmacist today to see if any of the meds could be combined.
She said that any of the meds could be taken together. It was important to take the zithromax at the same time daily.
Important to take the flagyl with food and no alcoholic beverages.
The only possible side effect would be nausea.
Good info to know as I sometimes have a hard time getting all pills in during a day. Sometimes I get distracted and forget a pill, etc.
Oh, and of course take probiotics/vitamins and supplements two hours from meds.

The only reason I said to take the Malerone and zith NOT together is because....
When my sons were on them the LLMD told me that Malerone is absorbed better with fats, so they would eat yogart, cream cheese, whole milk.... and the zith CAN'T be taken with dairy.

I forgot to mention that I am taking your advice. I would certainly trust someone on the meds.
Good news is that I take my zith right after dinner, and my malarone (last one of the day) two hours later.

Check good drug sources for meds that cause prolonged qt syndrome(temporarily). zithromax, and diflucan. see macrolies and ekg. diflucan and ekg.
see wikpedia, and other sources for definition prolonged qt sydrome(a waveform of the ekg), strenuous excercise, and death.
see sites on interaction of effects of drugs, etc.
whats compatible.
