Hi everyone...
My 5 week old godson has weird symptoms as in.. possible hearing loss, cold hands and feet, twitching in his lower extremities but it has calmed down a bit, heavy breathing, exsessive eating, and he isn't as alert as i think he should be at 5 wks.
Im worried about him, I need input about this cause i know a lot of women have given birth to children who have lyme disease.. we have no idea whats going on with him, my mother and I think it may be lyme. I hope to get some answers to some questions. Thanks a lot.

Does the mother have a current infection of Bb, or past one?

If so I don't think it would hurt to have him tested.

Also alot of newborns are immediately given vaccinations now right after birth. Which have alot of Mercury, heavy metals and toxins in them. You may want to have him tested for that too. Mercury can be passed from the mother also, then add in vaccinations and boy!

My homeopath LLMD, was talking to me about a case he had with a newborn that had alot of symptoms of lethargy and alot of others that you mentioned. This baby was extremely high in Mercury. When they started chelating he got better.

Good luck,
Lisi

How do u know he has hearing loss? Cold hands and feet are common in babies. They do not have the best circulation in the first months or so. What do you define heavy eating as? To me that would be a better sign than not eating enough. Why do u feel he is not as alert now? I might be concerned about the twitching but not so much the other symptoms.

Thanks for your replies everyone guys..

Lisi.. i dont know for sure if my sister has lyme disease but i've been nagging her to get tested for the longest time.
Me and my dad have it, she has a lot of symptoms of lyme but hasen't listened to me at all about getting tested, shes hard headed.

Duke.. He failed his inital hearing test, and he also has to go get another hearing test soon, i told my sister that if he has hearing loss then the baby and her both need to be tested.
Heavy eating.. he eats alllll day long, his doctor said today that if he doesnt stop eating he'll be 400 pounds at one year of age.. hes 6 wks now and weighs 10 pounds 11 ounces.

I've seen other babies at his age and they are a lot more alert then he is, it just worries me.. thats all.
Thats my explination.

thanks lymetoo for bringing my post up [Smile]

Where is he on the growth chart.
His brain cells are multiplying, and as his body grows, his system needs nutrition.

If you cut down his calories, he's likely to slow the brain growth, resulting in a lower IQ.

I had one who weighed over ten pounds at birth! I know they all three were over ten pounds by a month, since the other two were over nine pounds at birth.

However, my middle one, the biggest, has a congenital hearing loss and also has bipolar disorder. I would bet he has Lyme, too, but until he gets better health insurance (he has Kaiser) I'm not pushing him for testing. It won't get him anywhere.

I would say the best reason to have him tested is that his mom may have Lyme. However, if she won't get herself tested I doubt she's going to run out and have him tested, unless you can persuade her that her possible Lyme could be the reason for his problems and in order to get him treated she needs to get tested too.

I hope that makes sense. It certainly was a run-on sentence and I would have sent my sixth graders back to the editing table with that one!
