Hi all, it's been awile since I have written.

I am doing quite a bit better than I was before. This disease really had me big time.

I am still unable to work and do not have a doctor at this point. I have continued pain, fatigue, digestive problems, and space time problems with short term memory...to name a few of the problems. Let's just say I still have a LOT to contend with.

I did oral and IM antibiotics for about a year and then since November I've done juicing, rest, some exercise when I can, vitamins, massage ... so that's about three months.

I am nowhere near able to work again and have some exceedingly engrained symptoms (this disease went undiagnosed and progressed in escalation for about 30 years --- got it when I was 10 with first symptom being EYE TROUBLE) so my question is....

Having had this so long with every cell and inch and organ and joint and nerve of my body being poisoned...IS IT POSSIBLE FOR A FULL RECOVERY?

I just want to say all the crying jags and much of the brain pain have subsided tremendously and I credit the antibiotics to have worked...it took a long time to go a little ways...

Thanks to all who have helped me out along the way from this forum! So far....I am now seeing some progress.

I am also nearer to finding a dr. and possibly going back on abx, but not orals since my intestines and stomach are really on the blink.

sorry painted turtle to hear you are down/frustrated [Frown]

For me personally, I don't believe its posible for me to get a full recovery but rather a point of remmission that I can live with & be happy with.

3 years of traditional treatment got me in partcial remmission- for that I am very grateful but somedays can't help but feel I am too young to feel this old & can't help but dwell on the things I can't do.

Now I have to struggle, on a daily basis, to concentrate on the things I can still do & somehow to reconcille my life to try & be happy with what I can still do -easier said than done-and have hope for the future....because you never know what will wash up on the next tide.

As a side note:If I had to stop 1 year into treatment would not be as well as I am today. My stomach gave last year on year 3 of treatment so now I am doing rife & limited herbs as much herbs as my tummy can handle. Seems to be holding my progress to some extent.

my long term goal is I would to get my tummy back on line so I can take a maintance dose of abx & maybe a cyst buster-along with the rife & herbs.

I was really pleased to see your name here. I am so very glad that some of the emotional stuff has calmed down! PHEW.

I dont have an answer about full recovery but I do hope that someday I will tell you from personal experience...YES it is possible.

Hi,

After 3 years of aggressive oral treatment and many steps backwards during treatment, I'm pleased to share that I feel like my self again. I really didn't think this was possible even 4 months ago. However, I have been virtually symptom free for over 2 mos now. Please keep the faith and try to remain positive (which is hard I know). Don't give up hope ever.

YES IT IS POSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!

I have seen multiple people with late stage neuro Lyme sick for YEARS go into complete remission- all with IV Rocephin though!!! Except for one with IV Rocephin and then oral Tindamax and one IV Rocephin and then , what was it, it was a sulfa drug and I am allergic to those, anyway, then with an oral sulfa drug started with an R...
But both had IV Rocephin prior to it.

Well, even though I still feel like throwing in the towel at times....

I am sure I won't.

And...will BELIEVE IT TO BE POSSIBLE FOR A FULL RECOVERY!

Given that progress has been made, if I find the right doctor soon, I will continue despite all those

Quacks from ducks who confuse me with their junk.

I hope to find the right doc, stick with the right doc, receive (not oral meds...) and get the right plan and come back to say how I lived to tell about it.

I'm still fighting the remaining symptoms, but I believe, since about 3-4 months ago, that there's really a good chance for total recovery.

I mean, I know I won't be able to be under extreme stress for very long periods of time, but I'm pretty convinced I can have a normal life (as I'm almost having now) without taking 'lyme killers' one day.

I never really treated myself with abx though (very little), so I'm just writing to say I believe in full remission with alternative treatments as well.

Hi Painted Turtle,

I am 90% better since my lyme crash. At one point in my life I was in the hospital for two week, and continued to stay really sick for a few more years.
Now I am very happy to say that I am almost free of all my symptoms. It is possible to overcome this disease but it takes time, a lot of meds, and patience.

I refuse to believe otherwise. I have been on ABX for 2 1/2 years, was so very nearly almost cured (down to 3 or 4 days a month of moderate symptoms, feeling NORMAL the other 26 or so days) until I just switched anitbiotics. My LLMD wanted me to change in order to "root out" the rest of the Lyme that wasn't moving. BAM, did I get sick! This is what is supposed to happen though, and he said it is a great thing! It means there was still Lyme left and it's getting its butt kicked now. So I'm at 3 weeks right now in bed, out of work...but riding it out with the hopes that this means I'm near the end. When I come off this herx I am hoping that after a couple of more months on the antibiotics I will be cured. I refuse to give up, which is why I have religiously stuck with the ABX for 2 1/2 years, even though it's a long time...I have definitely seen the improvement, very slow but very sure. By the way, if it weren't for www.lymelog.com, I don't know how I would ever keep track of my progress.
