A few weeks ago there was a nice discussion re: magnesium.(i'm referring to oral suppliments)

Marnie, if you are out there, you had soem interesting comments. I'd love your input and anyone elses. Specfiically , you disussed muscle weakness and magnesium. The way I understood it, magnesium RELAXes muscles. so, would it still be good for those of us that are experiencing muscle weakness to specific muscle group and also some muscle wasting?

B12 (methlecbolimine)

I am goiing to try out these injections. I would like to hear about others experiences or thoughts. My deal is muscle weakness, joint pain and neuropathies, sensory loss, sensory disturbance.

thanks all-

Hi, Jif-

I have been gettin Methylcobalamine as well as folic acid injections at home for about 6 months. Initially, it was every week. Now it is every 2 weeks. They have helped my neuropathies emensely. My husband gives me the injections. 1cc B12 and 1/2 cc folic acid. he breaks the B12 up into 2 shots for me. Otherwise it seems to hurt.
Of course this is preservative fee. The B12 expires in one month and has to be refilled, the folic acid 3 months.

I did the methyl B12 shots for about 6 months. I injected 1 cc daily into my thigh.

For me they weren't that helpful but supposedly they can help with some neuro symptoms and I know I have read about people who have been helped by the injections.

As Debbie said, the methylcobolamin (however you spell that!) has a short shelf life but I used up every month so this wasn't an issue for me.

Good luck.

Hi there,

I've had both mag & B12 injections (methylcobalamin).

the B12 is easy to administer -causes no pain BUT i found it didnt really help me. however everyone seems to respond differently

the mag injections are my lifesaver -couldnt live without them -i have 3 per week. resolves most of my neuro symptoms, reduces pain & strengthens my muscles to be able to get out & about & exercise -without them i'd be completely bedbound. they do however cause a bee sting like feeling when injecting & can leave temporary lump but this goes away with massaging the site.

i too have all the above symptoms & i find mag helps most with muscle weakness & helps nerve function so you get a feeling of improved circulation & overall more energy!! [woohoo]

try them out see how you respond

I just started the injections. Twice per week-I do them on the days I need extra energy-gives me a real boost.
