Hey, I was wondering if anybody gets aches on the back of the head/neck. Around where the tender tissue meets the head, and general neck area?

I get aches there, but also when I get aches I tend to get itchy. I figure it may be from inflammatory things like histamine. Anybody else get those?

The back of the head is like the only place I get "headaches" anymore. They aren't really intense, just annoying and worrysome.

is this the HUMP area you're talking about. it's 24.7 non-stop pain. i have my frozen ice packs on this sensitive area all day long while i'm up! [cussing]

bettyg- Yea it's right around/on that hump. That sucks that you get constant pain that bad there [Frown]

Sometimes my neck and that area will start hurting real bad, and get real stiff, and the only thing that helps it is some astragalus. I dunno if it's really a good thing that it fixes it temporarily or not. Maybe it's just a herx in that area. I dunno enough at this point to say.

I know Buhner says to avoid it in late-stage/chronic lyme, but I'm not totally convinced that it won't benefit anybody in that stage.

Not suggesting anybody should take it or not take it, just thinking out loud like usual.

My neck is one of my major symptoms though. So annoying. I have trouble supporting my head for long peroids of time. Going to see LLMD in a couple days, will likely start on abx. Hopefully it will improve!

yes, my back hump is so very painful. that's why i always have frozen ice packs on, and later moistened heating pads.

my 2nd llmd when she gave me a complete physical even commented on how large it was; regular pcp has never addressed it in spite of my commenting of all the pain.

may we all get to feeling better in future. [Big Grin]

Yes, I have this also, and get PT for it. This is one of my biggest problems to deal with and I have had it for years.

I still get itchy on the back of my neck from time to time (today, for example). But it was really bad before I started abx. There was also a spot just inside the scalp line at the nape of my neck that used to itch a lot.

My neck used to feel stiff and achy all the time. When I told one Dr. this, she put both hands on my head and twisted it hard and said "Nice and supple". B*tch. She just about killed me. I bought a ton of different pillows during this time to try to get comfortable while I was sleeping.

I don't see her anymore, needless to say.

I had the back neck pain too with lots of itching. Turning my neck was extremely painful and itching the neck in back was my favorite thing to do. This has improved in the past several months.

From listening to the LLMD and reading articles.

i think the spirocytes and other bacteria get into the brain fluid- this causes inflammation in the brain spinal fluid (CSF).

Some of the doctors thought that the symptoms were similar to a meningitis type syndrome that lyme can cause,

But who knows - This could have been one painful lyme dream

I know I know....... this is an older post.

If anyone has had this insane itch burning feeling go away
please tell me how and when.

I have the head-neck pain also, but for some reason mine is

To the right on the back of my head.

The pain actually seems like it originates there and then travels down

From there to the top of my back.

My stiff, painful neck went away with first round of babs treatment.

It's back and with a vengeance.

Gives me the worst headache. My two small children are always saying "Mommy look"

I can't get my neck to cooperate with the program. It hurts to turn my head,

And if I forget and try to do it quickly-OUCH!

I get some itching, but I don't think it is as bad as some of you.

Ibuprofen actually helped me yesterday with the pain.

Yes, I have had this and it does get better. My neck stiffness/pain, headaches, spine pain, it is all much improved. It may take some of us longer than others but it does get better.

I used to use ice packs all the time, and now I hardly ever do anymore.

I am not 100% but I am no where near as sick as I was, so do not loose your hope.
